Can't stay logged in!

Wed Jan 03, 2007 10:33 am

I don't know if this has to do with the changes that came with the new year, but I can't stay logged in.

Before, if I left the site and came back, I was logged in. But now, I can't stay logged in.

Yes, I do check the "always stay logged in" option when I am logging in. It is annoying to have to log in each and every time I come back to the site.

Is it me or is this for everyone?

Check the cookie settings on your internet browser. You need to have cookies enabled, at least for this site.

How would I do that? I have never had to enable cookies for a website. Tools, Internet Options, then what?

Then the security tab. There's a button called 'trusted sites'

I haven't had a problem with the auto log-in setting thus far, none of the changes I mentioned should have affected it anyway. Also make sure that you enter the forum via http://www.nbaliveforums.com rather than just http://nbaliveforums.com; the log-in problems seem to be fairly common when you don't include "www".

As Donatello mentioned, you need to have cookies enabled in your browser. Additionally, if your cookie security settings are too high your broswer may not allow cookies that allow you to store auto log-in information, such as the ones phpBB forums use.

Some third party security/firewall programs (such as Norton) can also cause problems with the use of such cookies if their settings are too high or if you download software updates, which are necessary but sometimes change settings or add functions that offer additional protection to the point of interfering with email, log-in cookies and sometimes even general browsing.

Bingo, you got it Andrew. I didn't type in the "www." Now it's fine. I'll be sure to type in www. Thank you for the assistance.

Well, I always go with the "www" thing, but still ~3 times a day I have to log in again. It might be my explorer, but I dont know really. On the other hand, it doesnt cost me too much trouble.

Hmm, i'm having some log in troubles too lately. I have 'www.' in my bookmark. I don't have the problem with any other sites, and i never used to get the problem with NLSC until recently-ish.
