Yeah that Davy Jones was incredible. I don't think people realized that they were all completely CGI. It was just so real looking.

The Empire awards basically mirrored what a lot of critics said about Superman Returns.

It let down the action fans but there wasn't much action in Superman:The Movie either. They aren't that kind of movie. Not really for children.

wtf are you tlaking about the superman movie isnt for children? Jesus christ, it was so squeaky clean. It was possibly the most disappointed i've ever been in a movie. They reworked Superman 1 to make it 5 years after superman disappeared and made kevin spacey lex luthor instead of hackman. Come on. I agree with the dickriding of superman: so many better scenes didnt make the cut here...the saving of the plane was not even slightly well done as was as obvious as special effects come to me. As for the trailers, there are much better ones of them also...i could go on but i'm not going to. Obviously you're a superman fan and so am i, but superman returns blew.

Nice to see Children of Men in there. I'm actually gonna go watch it now if I can just because of that.

Anyone who thought Superman Returns was going to be packed with action must never have seen Superman:The Movie.

Superman movies are about romance and general human emotion. Just for the record, 75% of people who viewed Superman Returns in American cinemas were over the age of 25.

Spiderman is for children. I have yet to see meet someone over 25 who enjoyed any of the Spiderman, Xmen or Fantastic4 movies.

And the fact the Superman is a squeeky-clean hero contributes to why kids wouldn't find him appealing. We are in an era where bad is good. Only those of previous eras will enjoy Superman.

And I have yet to find anyone... period, who enjoyed Superman 64.

I actually loved the saving plane scene in Superman Returns. Ironically, we bought the DVD and watched it today. Great scene.

I'm glad to see Little Miss Sunshine in there. That movie deserves more recognition.

Watched Lil' Miss Sunshine on the plane, isn't it just a normal family film?

too bad the plane scene doesn't even reflect the slightest bit of physics.

Dont put fantastic 4 in the same caliber as xmen or spiderman movies...it was terrible...at least xmen and spiderman are decent

And spiderman has more emotion than superman ever could.

I really dont wanna argue that though. I loved superman as a kid, and probably always will, but i outgrew him. The indestructibility to me seems much more childish then any of the other movies you accuse of being "youngster" movies.

EDIT: Cloudy, Little Miss Sunshine isn't so much a family film as about the "meaning" of family and how everything can be fucked to hell and you still stick together....some members of mine need to learn that right now; excellent flick and i almost died laughing at the dance scene.
