Most brutal murder ever?

Postby cyanide on Sat Dec 23, 2006 4:07 am

This is probably the most disturbing murder I've ever read. And it took place in my city :shake:

A 13-year-old city girl who was raped and beaten to death on a golf course near Stony Plain last spring after being kidnapped at West Edmonton Mall was targeted as “the chosen one.”

That disturbing detail emerged yesterday in an agreed statement of facts after a 19-year-old man – one of five people charged in the April 3, 2005, slaying of Nina Courtepatte – earlier pleaded guilty to first-degree murder.

The man, who cannot be identified under a publication ban because he was 17 at the time, entered his guilty plea in Stony Plain youth court on Dec. 8. A sentencing hearing is slated for Edmonton’s youth court in April.

According to the agreed facts, Courtepatte’s body was found on April 4, 2005, by the owner of the Edmonton Springs Golf Course on the fairway of the fourth hole.

Courtepatte had been sexually assaulted, beaten with a wrench and a sledge hammer, stabbed with a pair of throwing knives and choked with a wrench.

The cause of her death was blunt cranial trauma.

According to the agreed statement of facts, the 19-year-old and his then-16-year-old girlfriend, also charged in the death, met the other three accused at a city restaurant on April 2, 2005.

Two of the accused are adults: Joseph Wesley Laboucan, 21, and Michael Erin Briscoe, 35.

According to the agreed facts, Laboucan outlined a plan to kill someone. The others initially thought he was joking, but later realized the plan was real.

“Throughout the day, the group talked a number of times about killing someone and that it would be a girl that was to be selected to be killed,” the statement says.

The group went to West Edmonton Mall to find a victim. Laboucan said he wanted a female because he wanted to have sexual intercourse with her.

Laboucan and Briscoe went into the mall and saw Courtepatte with a 15-year-old girlfriend. Laboucan decided “Courtepatte would be the intended victim.”

After the killing, the 15-year-old girlfriend asked “why this happened” to Courtepatte and Laboucan replied “because she is the chosen one.”

Once Courtepatte was selected, the two men returned to the group and told them they would come back to get her after they went for a meal at McDonald’s.

Courtepatte and her friend were told a ruse about a rave party to go to and, while driving to the golf course, everyone spoke of how much fun it would be.

While the group walked onto the golf course, Laboucan began talking about “rituals and raising the dead.”

The talk frightened the two girls and then Laboucan embraced Courtepatte and whispered something into her ear, causing her to “freak out” and begin screaming.

One of the accused then hit Courtepatte on the head with a wrench. The group began to beat her with their fists and feet. Courtepatte’s “extremely frightened” girlfriend was then taken back to the car, but she continued to hear her friend’s screams while leaving.

Courtepatte was told she was going to be killed, but the teen who has pleaded guilty in the slaying told her she could live if she had sex with some of the males.

Laboucan raped Courtepatte while one of the female accused held her hands. Then the teen raped her as well.

After the sex attacks, Courtepatte was told by the group that she would be killed with a metal sledge hammer.

She pleaded with them to not kill her and then pleaded to be stabbed instead.

One of the male accused tried to choke Courtepatte using the wrench across her throat. Laboucan tried to slit her throat with a pair of throwing knives, but they were too dull.

The group then decided to use the sledge hammer to finish her. She was hit several times by members of the group, including a blow to the head by the 19-year-old.

Witnesses say the 19-year-old also used the sledge hammer to hit Courtepatte in the groin area with the intention of disposing of evidence of the sexual assaults.

A female accused then stabbed Courtepatte in the throat and face.

When the group returned to the car, Courtepatte’s girlfriend was told the victim was still alive and they had stripped her naked and sent her home. They then left the golf course and went for a meal at a restaurant.

Laboucan and Briscoe are slated to have a jury trial in mid-January on charges of first-degree murder, kidnapping and aggravated sexual assault. The two female accused are also slated to have jury trials on the first-degree murder charges next year.

The agreed statement of facts is not evidence in the cases of the other accused.

Wow, something to actually discuss in the mist of all these "news" stories.

Well, since I'm in a foul mood, let's have a go...

Did you stop to think why parents are so busy with their work now days that they don't give a shit about their children anymore? Isn't it to provide for those same little runts? If not, why would both parents bother working? Why would they bother working at all?

A counter argument to my above queries could be that they (the parents) ought to not have kids if they can't take care/provide for them, that's a decent point, but I'd take a big, smouldering pile of cow feces and throw it at your ugly mug of a face.

Why, you ask? Well because the parents have kids to fulfill what society of now days expects from them. Society expects you to grow up, to get a fucking job, to do well in life, to produce offspring, for that offspring to produce more little pains in the ass. That's why.

Every day a new product is invented, people are brainwashed in to believing they need it, it's plastered in to your face, you end up buying it. Do you need it? Fuck no. Do you feel giddy like Michael Jackson after he's ejaculated on a 5 year old boy's forehead? Hell yes you do, why? Because society implied that with that product, you'll be happy for long long time.

So should the parents be to blame (because they are working)? Perhaps. Perhaps they shouldn't. Perhaps God fucked up, perhaps he just gave those shitfaced teenage garbage shit for brains, how are the parents supposed to reverse God's fucking up?

Discuss bitches, discuss.

I do think it is the fault of the parents. I was at a company Christmas party just last week with a friend of mine and most of her co-workers are in their mid to late 20s. Surprisingly, there were literally about 12 kids all under the age of 4-5 years old there; it was like a mini-baby boom in a room :)

Now, within, let's be liberal here, 30 minutes of arriving, you could see exactly which parents had control of their children, had their respect, and were attentive to them, and you could see the parents who were rather neglectful, and not very 'parenting'. The children of the former listened to their parents the first time they told them something ("Leave that alone" regarding a Christmas tree in the room, while the latter children would continuously try to rip the tinsel and ornaments, etc. off it after their folks had said something and then simply gone back to whatever they were doing previously).

Now, as a parent it's hard for me to fully grasp it all; but if there are any parents on these forums (none come to mind), getting their opinion here would be grand. However, in my most recent experience, among others, it is pretty easy to tell who's doing their job properly and who's yet to realize that they must put aside their own wishes so that their children don't grow up to be fuck ups.

You've also got parents who are so in dillusion that they cannot recognize their child as said fuck up. I've had parent teacher meetings where I explain documented incidences of their child behaving ridiculously (fighting, spitting, cursing, throwing shit, etc.) to which they'd simply reply, "I don't believe you. Johnny could never do such a thing." as if I'm making this shit up to fill time in my day...

I do know one thing: not all parents are like mine, who I feel did a damn good job raising myself and my two siblings, and continue to provide guidance to us today, despite all three of us having our own lives and no longer living at home. I don't know if parenting has just diminished throughout the generations, but something's definitely wrong, at lest here in America, and if I know one thing, it's that I'll be the best damn parent possible, and raise my children right, period. It went down hill when beating your kids to a pulp was taken off the table.

I was beaten as a kid, look how I turned out...

Hmm, wait...:shifty:

I wasn't beaten, but I was certainly smacked in the fuckin face when I stepped over the line. The way I hear children talk to their parents these days is ridiculous. I've heard 1st graders tell their mothers and fathers, "I wish you were fuckin' dead!" because they weren't allowed to stay after school for intramurals...

Now, when I was a kid, my parents would've played it cool and dragged me out of the building all collected, and let me know on the car ride home that I was in deep, and when I got home I would've got what was coming to me; likely a slap in a face, a smack on the ass, and sent to my room (which didn't have a telephone, a television, video games, etc. - it was actually a punishment to go there) for an extended period of time, and if I had any plans that afternoon with friends or anything, they would've been told that I couldn't play that day and they would've been told why to embarass me as well. Hell, I learned fast that life was a lot better when I was just good...

My brother is a problem child like most younger kids these days. He finds ways to get out of punishments all the time - primarily annoying the hell out of my parents until they finally cave, or destroying things. He's put a hole in practically every single door in our house. My door is hanging on its hinges from where he's charged it from all the way down the hall. Essentially there is no punishing this kid. It's like he doesn't think before he does anything. I've busted his lip so many times, but he gets right back up and continues being an annoying piece of shit. It almost makes me think the only thing to actually shut him up would be to kill him (he runs around making obnoxious sounds, the other day he was yelling "CPR" at the top of his lungs repetitively - no he doesnt have terrets).

So, in a sense, I can empathize with parents who have unruly children. Frankly I think children like my brother could only be disciplined by locking them in a padded room. At the same token, most parents don't even try to discipline their children, because they're too busy getting drunk, or trying to make friends with their kids. It really gets on my nerves. At school you deal with people who look like they're habitually stoned. I wish school wasn't a mandatory thing, that if you didn't want to attend you didnt have to, so that some of these crackheads didn't lower the environment for those who DO care. Just make them enlist in the military if they dont want to learn :P

There's my rant on life, hope it makes some sense

That is just wrong. WTF is wrong with people these days... I mean, how the hell can you rape and kill a 13 year old girl so brutally? That's just wrong. I hope those people get life in prison and they get raped in there every night (kinda like Tweener from Prison Break). Fuck, that's just wrong.

Sick fucks. Each one of them should be killed in the most painful way possible. I can't begin to imagine what the parents of the poor girl feel like right now.

She sounded very brave though, pleading to be stabbed instead? Most people would have curled up and cried until they were killed. Another thing that stands out is if what that guy said about "she could live if she had sex with some of the males" is true, and she really did refuse, shes got a hell of a heart to stand up to that.

Rest In Peace Nina Courtepatte

It makes me sad and angry at the same time. When things get as disturbing as that, you can't even begin to imagine what those people had in their heads.

There was a case like that in Germany not long ago. Three inmates of a prison, ages 19 to 25 I think, tortured a cellmate to death. (I don't remember how, exactly.) Their explanation: "We wanted to see a man die." What is wrong with fucks like them? I mean, what are the odds of putting three psychopaths together in one cell? Isn't it horrible to think that maybe they weren't psychpaths but just twisted sickos? I love movies like SAW and the like, but the idea of anyone re-enacting shit like that is just disturbing...
