Penn State....Michigan State.....UCLA......it's not like Michigan and USC are playing devastating schedules - USC didn't play a good team until yesterday and still managed to lose a game to Oregon State - I think Notre Dame should be at 3, Florida at 4 after their weak performance against South Carolina, and USC at 5 just because they have a horrendous loss and an otherwise easy schedule. We'll see what happens when ND heads out to LA in two weeks.

USC beat Nebraska, Arkansas, Oregon, Washington...

Thats better than the struggling Spartans, Penn St. with thier freshman QB, and UCLA which isn't that good of team.

Sat Nov 18, 2006 3:12 am

umm.. Notre Dame's wins are not that impressive at all. Michigan State (4-7) blows, and they BARELY beat them. UCLA (5-5) is almost just as bad as the Spartans, and the Irish squeaked out a 3 point win against them. Penn State (7-4) is half-decent, but all 7 of their wins came against unranked teams, and all of their losses came to ranked teams. Other than Michigan and USC, Notre Dame's schedule is ridiculously easy. That being said, USC's schedule hasn't been that tough either... but they have two games coming up against pretty darn good teams. If they win out, they will most likely play the winner of UM/OSU in the national championship game...

The thing that would piss me off the most would be if Michigan loses to Ohio State, USC loses one of their remaining games, and Notre Dame gets into the championship game. That would be the biggest load of crap ever, especially considering Michigan dominated ND and their only loss would be against the #1 Buckeyes. I can see something like this happening because of the whole BCS system... but there's no way ND deserves to play in the national championship game, not over Michigan, not over Ohio State, not over Arkansas, and not over Rutgers even. I'm an Irish fan too (as bad as that is considering I'm a diehard Michigan fan) because two of my best friends go there, so there's no bias here :)

I'm more pumped for The Game then I was for the NC in 2002.

my take: looks like USC is in the best position to make it to the nat'l championship...the ND/USC game and the SEC champ. are gonna be HUGE games (sort of like a playoff of sorts to bid for that 2nd spot in the Championship)

btw: i still think that Michigan is the 2nd best team in the nation, but i dont wanna see a rematch in the 'Ship...

Tue Nov 21, 2006 2:16 am

I'm really hoping for a Notre Dame win over USC in a very close game, because I really, really want to see a rematch in the NC. I'm sick of hearing these bitch ass whiney Michigan fans talking about the shitty field conditions as if they are the only ones that had to play on it. I want to play scUM on a neutral field, kick their ass again and shut those stupid fucking bitches up.

God I fucking hate Michigan with all my goddamn heart.

don't follow college football that much and don't have a rooting interest for either team but i'd like to see a rematch myself.

My take: Looks like UCLA stands in the way of a USC-OSU championship...I dont really want to see the Rematch in the championship game, cuz if Michigan won, then it'd be a split-title...i also dont wanna see a Michigan-ND rematch in the Rose Bowl, i'd like to see Michigan play someone different...also, alot is riding on the Florida-Arkansas game next week...

BCS Bowl Game Match-Ups:

Image

My Take: I think this all went well with the #2 controversy, and Florida deserves to be there...the 5 games look to be some good games and I look forward to the whole college football bowl season...and once again, Go Blue!!!

Anyone care to weigh in?

Mon Dec 04, 2006 5:13 pm

Troy Smith and Ted Ginn connection all day on the day of the BCS National Championship !

Mon Dec 04, 2006 5:29 pm

Figured that was gonna happen with USC's choking this week...Hopefully it'll be a good game between Florida and OSU, but i dont think Florida stands a chance. But the last time i said that about them they won march madness. The last time i said that in football, Texas won the Rose Bowl. So yeah, I dont know what i'm talking about, but i'm gonna say OSU champions, USC over Michigan, LSU over ND (i think Quinn and co. get more credit than they deserve), Louisville over WVU, and Oklahome over boise state. These should be good games though and i'm looking forward to them.
Hopefully i got those logos right...

Goddamn it, we are going to run all over Florida. I really wish we could have seen Michigan again.

Tue Dec 05, 2006 5:40 am

Florida deserved to get a shot at Ohio State. Florida went through a very tough schedule and did extremely well with it. Michigan is a great team, too, but Florida should be rewarded. Michigan already had it's chance to knock out the Buckeyes.

Florida should have lost to Arkansas and South Carolina though.

Hell, Florida came close to losing to Florida State.

If the spread is 14 points or less in favor of the Buckeyes, I'd bet my bankroll on Ohio State. I'm guessing the line will come out at -7 or -10, so I probably will drop a big bet on the game.

I can't really argue that Florida doesn't deserve the shot at Ohio State, but what I can argue (for days and days too :P ) is that Michigan is the 2nd best team in the country and it would be an AWESOME game vs. Ohio State on neutral ground. It's too bad the voters just didn't want to see a rematch - the computers had UM and UF exactly even, which was quite surprising with Florida's schedule and all. I thought for sure if the computers were even that Michigan would be #2 as that was how the polls were looking this whole time. Oh well.

I think Michigan vs. USC will be a great game, so can't really complain too much. At least I get to watch my game a week before Indy does
