I would take Peppers over Freeney although its close, you have to look at some of the aspects.

- Peppers is a better run stopper, although Freeney is a better pass rusher.

- Freeney isn't as big as a physical pressence than Peppers is. Freeney 6'1" 268 pounds and Peppers 6'7" 283 pounds.

- Peppers is getting better and better as for Freeney who seems like he has lost a little bit of his quickness off the line.

I think Julius Peppers is bigger playmaker. He can really help decide a game.

Peppers, he's quick and is very good at pass blocking(with his height).

I believe it really comes down to versatility. Julius Peppers is the better all-around football player. The man is quicker than most linebackers. I'm sure most of ya'll have seen him return an INT for 6....dude is fast, especially for 6'7. If I had to pick one player, it would be Peppers.

But if your question is who's the better DE, I couldn't tell ya. After all, Freeney is totally the driving force of the much improved Colts defense. The Panthers have other great D-Lineman (Ruckers, Jenkins).

Freeney gets double teamed on every single play and he still gets his sacks.

As of next year Freeney won't even be the best Defensive end on the team though, watch out for Robert Mathis. The kid is amazing.

Yeah, I'm thrilled about the Booger pickup. He's only a slight upgrade to Corey Simon, but after finding out Simon was out for the season it feels so much better then if I were just finding out that Simon was coming back. Imagine if we could have picked up Booger with Simon still healthy. A D-Line of Freeney, McFarland, Simon and Mathis would be by far the best in the NFL.

Peppers easily. Freeney is just a pass rusher
Jump.

methinks the colts fans are too excited... just messin with ya guys, not being antagonizing...but the best line in football with simon, mcfarland, freeney mathis? my personal opinion the colts d is so good because the head coaches are so scared of peyton and company they forget they have to move the ball too... ok ok i'll stop ripping on colts fans...i'm a panthers man myself so we're just as bad, everyone freaks out about our d so thats why our offense can look good on occasion ;-)
