Taking into account that my football knowledge has risen from F---- to F+ in the last couple of months, why Laurence Maroney over Reggie Bush out of curiosity?

thats wat i was thinking

Well, first of all Reggie Bush won't get to start in New Orleans because of Duece McAllister and I dont think that Reggie will get enough playing time to be the ROTY.

Secondly, Maroney has played extremley well and is challinging Corey Dillion for the starting position. Dillion is also injury prone and is getting old, so I expect Maroney to start in about 10 games.

Also, New Orleans does not have a good offensive line at all, while the NE offensive line is vastly better and can make things happen for the runningbacks.

I'd give Deuce (didnt he play only like 5 or 6 games last year?)as much a chance to get injured as Dillon. Also Bush will be getting opportunities on punt returns, kick offs and such so I think he will get a nice amount of field time.

No way that you can look at Duece and say he has the same risk as Dillon!

- In 2001, McAllister played in all 16 games (rookie season)
- In 2002, McAllister played in 15 games and became the starter.
- In 2003, McAllister played in all 16 games
- In 2004, McAllister played in 14 games

Look there, his first 4 years he only missed 3 games out of 61. He only had last year where he got injured and that was the only major one. Now you look at Dillion's accolades injury wise and see a load of injuries later on in his career, minor, but still injuries to him. The worst was in 2003, when he was actully playing hurt for most of the season, till finally he wore down and didn't play the last 3 games.

Also, McAllister is a much better runningback at this point in his career than Dillon is, and if New England struggles Maroney will start at RB, if he isn't already. Dillon is very liable to get his job taken away from him, as he is getting older (32 will be turning 33 this year).

Actully Vince Young won't start in Tennessee, they arent going to start him his rookie year, because he is very unfamiliar with the offense in Tennessee and want to get him some experience and tutoring. Right now, the starter is Billy Volek.
