I was surprised about this. Wonder if he will be stripped of the title.

Your thoughts?

shoot! america will have lost. will a year ever pass without anyone not using illegal drugs? [i know other have all ready done it this year]

Fri Jul 28, 2006 7:33 am

i am getting suspicious of lance armstrong.....i really hope lance didn't take steroids

I heard about this in the news and I don't think he will get stripped, but hopefully the title is awarded to the rightful winner.

Fri Jul 28, 2006 3:58 pm

dear god. this is truely unexpected.
well i dunno. i kind of feel he should be stripped just becasue he used other advantages.

I was expecting something like this to come about and am a bit surprised it took so long. Another witch hunt until some French dud ends America's reign on the Tour.

He will definately be stripped of the title, if the counter-analysis turns out to be the same:

Tour de France chiefs say they will be angry and sad if 2006 winner Floyd Landis' failed drugs test is confirmed.
Landis' Phonak team revealed that the American had tested positive for the male sex hormone testosterone.

As well as a two-year ban, Landis faces being stripped of his victory if his B sample matches the first test.

"If the result is confirmed, anger and sadness would be the dominant feelings for those thrilled by the 2006 race," said the organisers in a statement.

And rightfully so, I think.

The French have never heard of ANY levels of testosterone...this isn't very surprising.

Sat Jul 29, 2006 7:00 am

I'm sure Lance took steroids.

Sun Jul 30, 2006 7:39 pm

his team said he tested positive for high testosterone levels during Stage 17, when the 30-year-old American champion began his stunning comeback with a gritty charge into the Alps.

It's really a bad sign when your own team is the one that tells the world you're doped.

no surprise, Lance took drugs, now this other American guy did too....makes it hard for the casual fan to appreciate such a tough sport when there are cheats out there (N)

Tue Aug 01, 2006 4:28 pm

Nobody ever admits to it... all of this pleading ignorance annoys me. "I didn't knowingly take them". BS, and even if that were so, it doesnt make it right. You cant just do whatever the fuck you want and then claim you didnt know any better. Who is the runner who is now claiming some masoose rubbed anabolic steroids on him as a vendetta? What a crock... i might believe it IF it werent such a common thing to deny it over and over, and then not only be proven a cheater, but also a liar.

Sun Aug 06, 2006 12:14 am

Well...its official....Landis's B test is now positive.

Sucks for him. I was hoping for the best with this guy but unfortunately the result isnt in his favour. Pretty sad.

Sun Aug 06, 2006 12:47 am

What a cheat, every American news outlet should apologise for sucking this guys steroid filled balls for the last few weeks.

Sun Aug 06, 2006 11:38 am

that must suck heaps, all that effort for nothing in the end
