Rating differneces between Live 06 and 2k6

Mon Mar 27, 2006 5:02 pm

By owning both games now i have noticed there is alot of big player rating and team rating differences between the two games. List the 2 games and the player and the rating and choose which one u find more correct:
Live 06-(left) 2K6(right)
Dwanye Wade (91) (97) Definately Live-97 is way too high
Allen Iverson (89) (96) Live because 96 is too high aswell
Marcus Camby (76) (85) i have to go with live again(85 is elite)
Andre Miller (74)? (80) im going with 2k-he is underrated in Live
Tim Duncan (91) (99) 99 being pretty much neer perfect im going with Live
Miami Heat (91)? (95)? im not 100% sure on those ratings but according to 2k Miami r the best with that rating so im goin with Live

Add yours :D

2k series isnt ESPN anymore. ESPN is part of EA sports now. thanks to Madden (Y)

NBA Live uses a 0~99 rating system.
2k sports games still use the 50~99 rating system. (Same rating system as the older NBA Live games.)
So usually the ratings in 2k6 will be higher.

whats the 50-99 system, does it mean all their ratings are 50-99(ex... 3pt shooting is 50-99, dunking rating is 50-99 etc.), or does it mean that their overall rating is 50-99???? if its the first one (ex... 3pt shooting is 50-99, dunking rating is 50-99 etc.), then live doesnt use 50-99 system

live doesnt use 50-99

50~99 means that the minimum value for ratings is 50, not 0, whereas in Live the minimum value is 0. Anthony15, all you have to do to check my point is look at the ratings for live.

See, there. Live uses 0~99. (Um..if you still don't see it, then look at 3pt rating!!)

yeah, but in terms of overall ratings, who do u think has gotten the players rating right in ur opinion

Well the thing is this. In the 2k6 ratings, everyone is given quite high ratings due to the 50~99 system. So it's almost impossible to judge which ratings are better since they are rated differently. In most cases, you'll have 2k6 ratings higher than nba live ratings because of the rating system. It's like having a curved 50~99 grading system versus having a regular 0~99 grading system. You get what I mean? I guess 0~99 is better since it has more range.
