This is something that bugs me. The constant use of the word render.

I want to clarify a few things. I'll use random examples from graphics sites and from ME for this.

This is a render. It was made in a 3D modelling program and to finish it the computer 'renders' it. That's where the term 'render' comes from. This is also a render.

This is NOT a render. This is a cut. It is an image that was removed (or cut) from it's background. Nothing here is rendered. Everything that you find here is also not a render. The video game screens have been rendered, but not by any of these people. They just take screenshots, cut them, and touch them up.

I get sick of it too. We'll never forget nbalive744's "Premium" renders :lol:
