Ea Sports: Fight Night, Round 3

Thu Mar 02, 2006 8:46 am

I highly suggest this game. I just got it and it's really good. If your not really into boxing, you'll still enjoy it alot.

The Good: Same great control mechanics found in previous Fight Night games; lots of great boxing legends to test your skills against; great player models on ps2 and xbox, and amazing models on the xbox 360; gruesome sound effects make you cringe when you hear a guy get smacked in the face.

The Bad: Career mode lacks structure and feels like a series of loosely related matches rather than an ongoing fight to become a champion; single-player fights get repetitive because it feels like you keep facing the same opponent over and over again.

Really good game, but does get repetative. They made the haymaker a lot slower and harder to land, but does more damage. Feels slower than last year, no more replays or sweat.

Not as good as round 2, but still a good game. Rent it first.

I should check out that game. Never really enjoyed playing boxing games though but I'll still give it a shot.

would get it but my PS2 is dying :(

Is it better than Round 2? Round 2 was fun for a while, but for some reason most of my friends didn't like it as much so I was bored playing alone so it seemed like a fighter game with one character...

It seems someone already answered my question.
Sort of disappointing I guess. I wish I had people who would play it though to test its true potential.

i downloaded the demo for the 360. really fun game

fight night needs to step their game up. We need a more involving boxing story..something like rocky...we need more of a reason to fight than just beating a fucker senseless. Round 3 on xbox wasnt really an upgrade except for the fighting styles...and on xbox360 it's basically only a graphics update. However, boxing is still my second fav sport after basketball...so i'm a fan.

Because i only have a PC :(

Then you'll be the only one not playing it.

Wed Mar 08, 2006 4:05 am

i'm not gonna be playing it too :(

Thu Mar 09, 2006 7:22 am

I downloaded the demo for the 360 too, and it was  :D :) (Y)

We ( myself and 6 friends ) were playin' that demo with two controlers for about 5 hours, and we loved it because each guy plays his way, and each boxer ( there were only two ) has his own style and weaknesses. It's really a great game. (Y)

I have the one for the PSP, loving it so far, aside from the difficulty in the controllers. Too much button jamming, too hard to defend, and in the later parts of careers, the opponents just get ridiculous. But aside from that, the game truly defines portable. I can get in a match in less than a minute, although IGN complains about the freakishly long loading times, which makes me wonder if they even played the game.
