Just announced that he has passed on. As a Twins fan this is a tragic thing. Wow.

Man, he had such an effect on all of our lives in Minnesota. He is the biggest sports star in Minnesota history. He had some issues off the field, but I believe he was a good guy and he died way too young. Rest in peace, Kirby, you are one hell of a guy.

And that photo, that is the best moment in Minnesota sports history. God damn... :cry:

I don't really know who he is (I think I've heard of him, not sure though), but if he's being talked about this much, than he must have been important to someone. RIP.

Voted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in his first year of eligability

Two time World Series Champ (1987, 1991)
