Basketball Trash Talking

Me and my friend always do some trashtalking for fun when we play basketball, but we dont really know much of the stuff to say...

so far we got this: (its funnier with white guys pretending to be black)
'you got nothing'
'i got hops'
'that shit was anklebreaking, aight'
'you got schooled'

I was always into more physical forms of trash talking... knocking people over and standing over them etc. Never really talked much on the court unless it was abusing referees or saying things like "stop complaining you dodgy little cunt" to opposing team players.

What is it with wigger piston fans?

If I block someone and theres a break (out of bounds) I usually will just yell in their face or something or laugh at them

When I do a huge block or some sort of crazy ass lay-up 180 pike twist majig, I scream out "Get out of my house"

I don't do much trash talking though, I should just to feel good

I actually smile and say sorry, and pat 'em on the back after a huge block or a shot in their face.. They'll be like damn... With the embarrassing look

I don't really say anything , I don't like getting too too hyped during games.

I think it is much more efficient, in terms of intimidating the opposing player when you use physical means.

For example, you tug on their shirts real careful for the ref not to watch, one time a friend of mine got this guy so upset, he started yelling "DON'T FUCKING TOUCH ME" in the middle of a play and everybody was asking themselves wtf... But I guess that's kind of foul play.

It also helps if you're a towering 6'5" giant and you play smaller guys. You can do the typical NBA thing were the PG is taking the ball down the court and the C or PF just trods ahead of him, and the opposing PG is trying to get to the other, but in the middle is a grim-faced behemoth. It's pretty funny when I see it.

i dont really mean the trash talking you do in a game, i mean some basketball lingo that you could use to trashtalk

I've noticed that too. Words are cheap and don't really cause any harm at all, but if you "accidentely" hit someone hard on a lay up or whatever they remember it and become alot more reserved and less confident during the game.

Do you guys think if some guy jumped on you and was literally sitting on your head while going up for a fast break lay-up will shatter somebody's confidence?

I usually reserve my trash talking when playing NBA Live, but on the court, I almost never trash talk. The only time I trash talk is if my opponent starts talking smack to me, which doesn't happen very often. I usually do little things like smile, shake my head, or the occasional hand gesture. In big games or critical moments, once in a while I've let out a holler or scream with authority, but virtually all the time, I'm an aggressive but reserved player.

as for physical, i only go all out when i ref doesnt call a blatant foul call....then i go all out. We made ths kid cry (many times) simply because we'd beat him up anytime he got into the paint.

I used to be one of the biggest trash talks on the street ball court during my teens. Everytime a dude missed a shot i was like "eehhhhhhhhh!!!" like a loud last second buzzer at the end of an nba game. Then i would diss um on their mamma's and shit like that. Needless to say..there were many fights on the courts..and i got into a few.

I was talking shit with 3 dudes..and they ganged up on me after the game and stuck me up with a blade. I was so pissed off that i punched a light post and sprained my right hand..then i got a couple of my boys afterwards and handled that fool later.....fond childhood memories in nYc

The only time I talk on the floor is to my own teammates. Just tell them to get their hands up, get back on defense, spread out, clear out, etc. I'm not into that whole trash-talking thing.

Yes, I play church basketball. We play a lot of "ghetto" churches and they talk A LOT of trash. Most of them are just wiggers but every once in a while we play a black team. I remember last game I was trapped in the corner and they were trying to get the ball from me and and this fat black guy was saying stuff like "Give me that fucking ball" or "You aint gunna handle this". I have no idea why he was talking and why the ref did nothing about it, but he was talking all game long.

You'd be surprised how competetive and vulgar church basketball can become.
