Actor Chris Penn dead

Police said they discovered the 40-year-old actor's body around 4 p.m. Lt. Frank Fabrega said there were no obvious signs of foul play.

Sean Penn's publicist, Mara Buxbaum, issued a statement saying that "the Penn family would appreciate the media's respect of their privacy during this difficult time."

Chris Penn's body was found inside the four-story condominium complex after police were called by someone from within the building, Fabrega said.

Damn. I loved this guy in Reservoir Dogs, San Andreas, and even Corky Ramano. He played a damn good smart ass haha. Good actor, dead too young.

I've played San Andreas, he was a good cop. I didn't know the guy but now I see the resemblance of Penn and cop.

He was originally supposed to play Stifler's Dad in American Pie 2, in a storyline that was later replaced by Stifler's little brother coming to visit instead. Some of the cut scenes made the "Threesome" American Pie boxset. Basically he was a 40 year old Stifler and the point of the storyline was to show why Stifler became the jerk that he did. Apparently test audiences didn't really care about Stifler's past as much as they liked the trouble his character gets into in the present so it was dropped in favour of his little brother coming to the beach house.
