Importing cars

Postby beau_boy04 on Thu Dec 15, 2005 5:11 pm

Why aren't the best cars available in the USA?

I know they stopped the production of the Integra Type R in the USA and replaced it with the RSX. I read somewhere that The Acura Integra Type R is still in production in Japan.

What about the Nissan Skyline GTR? why isn't this beauty available in the US? Subaru has their STi and Mitsubishi the EVO, what does Nissan has in the US? The Z? come on now Nissan please bring your A game and bring the Skyline!

Anyways, is it illegal to import a Skyline to the US? if not how much would it cost me to bring a Skyline to US territory?

Thanks.

Well golly gee, what do you think we are? Bush? We don't know everything & surely not about what you just asked.

Search the web, go to car forums or just hit up Stoivan.

No, it is not illegal... But if a dealership is not going to pay mass customs/import charges for a number of cars to be sent to the US, then you'd have to do it yourself for the specific car you want. That would pretty much double the price of teh car. The same goes with Europe and American cars. If I want to import a Ford Mustang privately, i Would have to pay a sum total of 60000$ plus, instead of the 25000$ or so it costs in the States. Import laws amd customs charges are brutal, trust you me... :|

Man, you don't know how lucky all Americans are...
1- You can drive a 6+ meters car without problems of spaces like us.
2- You can drive amazing cars with a VERY huge motor.
3- Gas is very cheap there, so you can feed that 6.0L motors without paying almost 2€ for a liter of gas.
4- Your country is VERY large, you have garages for your cars, here in Milan, the ones that you call houses are practically zero, we live in apartments and most of them don't have a garage. Plus you have large streets and a very good highway system.

Also, why the hell you want a Japanese car when you have Ford, Chevy, GMC, Dodge and Lincoln?
Most of people here don't even know Chevy, GMC, Dodge, Lincoln and Ford's USA cars!
Dear Old World, you represent everything that's wrong...

You cant drive the Skyline, UNLESS u get it legalized. Theres one reason why, its Crash Ratings are too low. Other than that there a nice, overpriced car.
