Restoring files won't do anything but restoring system files MP3.
Notice Bob when you say the same amount of Memory is not the same amount of disk space available. I don't have win xp but those are things different since the Memory might stay the same even when you delete files. The disk space available is the one how you can determine if the files are still on your disk or what.
If you deleted an account like you said, access to those files might be available somewhere in the registry or in DOS. However, if you formatted your disk or did something else other than deleting "an account" the files might be gone and you will need an undelete/unformat program to get those files back.
