I'm actually not digging this game. Not much has changed. The graphics look the same as last year and the D-Line seems to burst through almost at will. I did try the Superstar mode and got drafted by the Broncos as their RB in the 3rd round. Field goals are much tougher, not used to the new style kick meter. I missed like 3 Xtra Points. Anyone else notice that the graphics for the player faces on the menus are horrible?? I have the PC version

The kicking meter is different from last year? I can't tell it's different. I had the PC version this year and last. The Pass blocking is poor and my QB seems to tuck before being hit way too often, Steve McNair shoudl not care about getting hit. Let him fling it. I get sacked like 7-8 times a game.

And special teams is a complete joke. Your players don't seem to block at all on punt return, or be able to get down the field against a punt return. Maybe mine suck, but I never get one block on a punt return. I haven't ran with it once, nothing but fair catches.

Superstar mode is cool, I'm a FS drafted by the Titans in round 3. Ended up at 92 overall. Got 90% on the IQ test. :D That whole thing is cool. How does the gameplan work, how do you get points? I figured whenever your dude did something (interception, sack, tackle for loss) you would get points. But I was at 1 point and went down to 0 after a play in which I got an interception. That just doesn't make sense. And the general AI seems to be permanently set at 'dumbfuck'. I throw the ball and all the db's on the other team immediately turn and sprint to where it's being thrown. They throw it and I'm lucky if I get one heading over without my help. There just seems to be a lot of lazy, careless mistakes. They didn't update the whole engine for the game so I don't know where these glitches come from.

The kicking meter isn't totally revamped or anything its just that the timing of it is totally different, just haven't gotten used to it. You literally have only about 2-3 seconds to pass before you get sacked, which is kinda realistic but since I'm getting back used to the game I'm getting sacked a lot. I'm going to run the superstar mode a little more to see how things go. Hopefully after I get used to the game it will be a lot more fun.

The little changes have me messed up, switching sprint and switch on defense, qb scramble, throw-away, and one of the passes on offense. Whenever I want to scramble I throw it away because I'm stupid. I don't use it enough to get used to it.

You can use Madden 05 controller settings for 06. Just go to the controller layout window and change the default settings to Madden 2005.

I don't know, man. I'm REALLY pissed off at EA for taking away custom playbooks in franchise. WTF were they thinking? That's the most fun about running a team, creating your own plays. But EA made sure to keep Create-A-Fan.

I agree, but that does not change the fact that your dynasties at Maddenmania are a class act... If you do decide to post a new one, ring me a bell and I'll be right over reading. (Y) 8-)

Thanks, man. I'll definitely let you know. If I start one, it won't be until the opening day rosters are available.

This is EXACTLY the same as Madden 2005, with the exception of Superstar Mode and the QB Vision.

How disappointing...(N)

One thing that always seens to happen is that my wideouts are much more likely to catch an over-the-shoulder ball in tight coverage that a ball that hits them in the numbers on a hook. The last game I played I threw 4 balls on hook patterns that bounced off my guys chest. And when I'm playing with my FS and I'm in coverage I hit catch to when I get just in front of the receiver. But he NEVER jumps, so the receiver always gets it because he can jump. I'm pretty much used to the new controls now, but those things are keeping me plenty pissed.

If you guys need decent PC/console sliders, go to the official slider thread at maddenmania.com
