Not sure if anybody have seen this before, but anybody interested working for EA better think twice. Working for EA was my dream goal, but that dream is now disillusioned.

No wonder NBA Live 2005 came out with so many problems.

doesnt surprise me that much.

Tue Feb 22, 2005 9:13 am

Shut up, I read half of it then closed it. He had to work long hours.

Well, instead of reading the whole thing, just scroll down to the bottom middle, then you'll get shorter stories from other people who had similar experiences.

i wasnt even flaming you or anything, i was just saying that probably most people wouldnt say oh yeah i read it and since your too lazy to read it ill just tell you about it.
Tue Feb 22, 2005 11:35 am
wow those conditions are terrible. The games are great, but when you know the truth behind it and the fact that people try to make illegal copies of it makes you feel a little bad that all that hard work is being taken advantage of.
I use to think about working for EA when I was little but I guess it kinda faded. I love those road rash games back in the sega days.

I know you weren't flaming me. You were just being stupid. I mean really, if I had read it already and someone asked me to summarize, it seriously wouldn't be that big a deal.
Tell you what. I'll pay you $7.50 an hour to read it for me.
This isn't a flame either.
Tue Feb 22, 2005 12:10 pm
this has become a muuuch bigger deal then i meant it to be...
Tue Feb 22, 2005 12:15 pm
It isn't a big deal... you just keep telling me I'm lazy.
I wanted to work for EA for a while too, just ask Andrew. Since then I've changed my mind about going into the computer industry though. And I don't want to be a secretary. So I guess I'm not going to work there
Tue Feb 22, 2005 12:30 pm
It's a pretty good read, still I read that months ago, I think Ben or Tony gave me the link to it, if I'm not mistaken. People there have to work like horses, it's not a good feeling one might have when thinking about applying for a job there. It could be interesting to hear from the ones who visited EA last year, though.
Tue Feb 22, 2005 2:37 pm
phew......I was gonna try n work at EA too.....n Ill prolly go for a Degree in Graphics Design or whatever......anyway theirs lotsa company's out there......wonder how stressful it is to work at Pixar?
that being said.....listenin to 1 person shouldnt really change your opinion.....I mean wasnt the dude fired.....hes just another angry ex-employee rite....or even if hes still workin there....he could just be one of those cases.....theirs no assurance of stuff like this unless at least a higher share of the staff say so......
so cyanide dont worry too much

Seeing as they're talking about 'football games' in just the first sentence I think it's actually at Tiburon, the people that make Madden. I also heard that's where it was when I - like Tales - read this months ago. I think it was posted here and at .org.
edit: They also mention California law which means the Redwood studios. I'm still gunning for the job at EA Canada.

i think i've read this before...something about some ea employee's wife complaining about stuff...too lazy to read it again...

If you scroll down, you'll get many, many other people, including ones that used to work for EA.

oh thanks for ruining my hopes n dreams man

......
but yeah I think Colin's point is good.....different studios do have different scenarios.
Tue Feb 22, 2005 6:53 pm
and i always thought EA was a good place to work at. See, this is why I wanna work 9-5....you get more time to yourself/family time. I'd rather make less than work more and make more. I'll probly end up earning $60k max but it's better than earning $100,000+ and working on the weekends and being tired.
Tue Feb 22, 2005 8:16 pm
and all my friends wanna work at EA....

Don't say that, Indy will kill you.
I saw a tour of EA Canada on TV once, I think it was EA Canada, maybe not. Either way, it looked pretty classy, and everone seemed to be having a fun time. Of course, that could be acting for TV.
