Im Wishing To Teach Myself Guitar, But I Dont Want to Go To Lessons. Is Theyre Any Sites Or Anything I Could Learn Off (Without Spending Money)?

btw, i already have an accoustic guitar. (im gonna get an electric when i learn to play)

i found this on google awhile ago and bookmarked it, but i never got off my lazy ass to actually learn anything....

my cousin learn to play the guitar by himself and all he did was buy one of those books with songs in it and i guess he just got the hang of it.

My sister got a video teaching you how to play with her guitar.

learn barre chords...you can pretty much play every song you hear after that...
also learn how to read guitar tab...you can become familiar with the guitar quicker than if you were learning notation.

i suggest going to www.ultimate-guitar.com
it pretty much has everything you will need to get started.
also download a free program called power tab from its official site:
www.power-tab.net
then go to www.powertabs.net to download guitar tabs for HEAPS of songs.

this program will make it easier for you to understand guitar tabs and generally just help you play better because eventually you will pick up musical knowledge through using it.

I started playing guitar november 03'. I taught myself too, the best way is get an acoustic guitar first.

Learn tabs , i used www.ultimate-guitar.com they got some nice tutorials there.

Once you get used to strumming, and dexterity in your freting fingers. Work on your picking.

Then if u're still into it go and hit up a guitar shop for an electric guitar .

Buy a book called "Zen Guitar" if you can afford it... it's pretty cheap and really helped me some time ago. Yeah, start on the accoustic guitar, it'll be easy once you decide to go electric.

Get tabs on the net, preferably from songs you like and would like to play yourself.. don't get frustrated at first, it takes time... good luck

If you haven't got one already, make sure you have a guitar tuner .
