Just out of curiosity, wat exactly does Novacastrian mean?

I"m a newcastle knights fan, but I've never understood the exact meaning of it besides meaning people from Newcastle.

"Nova" is new and "castra" (or something very similar) is castle, so it's just a fancy name for anyone from Newcastle.
