My New Computer!!!

Mon Dec 27, 2004 8:16 pm

I finally got my new computer and it's absolutley amazing. I played a couple minutes of Madden and was in awe. Everything loads so fast. And if I play music while I'm on the web it doesn't stutter and skip!!!

the main stuff:
    Pentium 4 - 3.4 ghz
NVIDIA GeForce 6600 GT (I was getting an x800 but through some set-up cpu from teh store getting this was $1000 cheaper. Go figure? :? )
    A BIG-ASS 20" LCD screen
180 gb harddrive (A nice upgrade from 16.7)
    my motherboard says this:
      Code:
      Manufacturer   Intel Corporation
      Model   D915PGN
      Version   AAC64142-400
      whatever that means

I personally like the list of my video card's capabilities
AGP Texturing, Hardware Transform and Lighting, Positional Lights, Subpixel Accurate Rasterizing, Stencil Buffers, Range Fog, Table Fog, Vertex Fog, W-Fog, Specular Gouraud Shading, Anisotropic Filtering, Bilinear Filtering, Point Sampling, Trilinear Filtering, Additive Texture Blending, Dot3 Texture Blending, Multiplicative Texture Blending, Subtractive Texture Blending, Environmental Bump Mapping, Environmental Bump Mapping With Luminance, Cube Mapping, Factor Alpha Blending, Vertex Alpha Blending, Texture Alpha Blending, Texture Clamping, Texture Mirroring, Texture Wrapping, Guard Band Support, Mipmap LOD Bias Adjustment, Projected Textures, Volume Textures, Point Primitive Support, Full-Screen Anti-Aliasing, DXT Compressed Textures, Two Sided Stencil Test, Mipmapped Volume Textures, Mipmapped Cube Textures, Texture Border Color, Spherical Mapping, Automatic Mipmap Generation, Hardware Rasterization, Shading, Transform and Lighting, Scissor Test, Legacy Depth Bias

Starting tommorow (since it's 2:15 AM right now) I will finally be able to play NBA Live 2005. Still haven't played it.

Can that robbery include me ?

Mon Dec 27, 2004 11:48 pm

Mate, with the amount of stuff you got for Christmas I don't think you really need to steal his computer :D

I think he wants you to rob him too

Oh I see... that can also be arranged.

Tue Dec 28, 2004 2:16 am

let's go looting!!!

Nice computer man.....

I got a P4 2.8 GHZ 160 GB HD

27'' Widescreen Sony LCD Screen ;)

Tue Dec 28, 2004 3:21 am

Congrats on the new PC. Myself bought a new graphic card today (Radeon ATI 9550). Only cost me about 100$ and works pretty good. NBA Live 2005 runs now perfect with lightningsystem on (couldn't even use that option before) and everything. NFS: Underground 2 still lacks pc speed but looks a lot better than before.

Tue Dec 28, 2004 6:37 am

Live is looking good so far (not graphically, those menu's look like utter shit.)

Jae, Nick, I love you guys too.

That's it, I'm fed up with this. You're doing exactly the same thing you've always done, apologising for poor behaviour then going out and doing the same thing again and again. I've been more than reasonable with you, but you still show no respect for the forum rules, your fellow posters or any of the moderators.

This is it. Behave yourself and don't spam. Next time, you will be banned. Should the Ban Control fail for some reason, any new accounts you create will be banned. You've just pushed your luck too many times and have had far too many chances.

Well the extra £1000 would have been for a more current and high end PCE set up. The x800 is a 16pipeline card with 256bit memory. Dont forget the 6600 is only a mid range 8 pipeline 128bit card, the GT only gives you increased clock speeds over the standard 6600, GT is the new XT. It still performs pretty well, but wont be capable of high frame rates in the latest games(HL2, Farcry, F.E.A.R, Brothers in Arms etc). But it is more than enough for any sports titles currently available.

This will be mine in 2 weeks, Here.

My spec is slightly different.
P4e @ 4.2ghz - 2x400gb Sata - 2gb ddrII800 - Audigy2 - 6800GT(SLI config-For dual GPU's)-22"LCD+ everything else I will ever need for the next 5 years.
I hand built my last system, so I decided I wont be fucking around with that again. I know a couple of people that have brought systems from Demonite and you really get what you pay for. The SLI mobo will allow me to add another 6800gt later, which i will probably do in a year or so.

Tue Dec 28, 2004 9:42 pm

Whoa. It's safe to say I didn't understand a single word of that. You're pretty good with this computer business huh Calven.

Tue Dec 28, 2004 9:46 pm

Well done. Another great contribution from Jay :P

Tue Dec 28, 2004 9:49 pm

What? I was saying you're good with computers. For someone who knows so much actually, it's funny that you keep denying being Calven. Ignoring the whole IP matching thing

Tue Dec 28, 2004 9:51 pm

BluntMan? More like... NerdMan. (yeah, i know. How funny am i. )

Awesome.

Tue Dec 28, 2004 9:55 pm

no business for me in this thread :D all those specs sound like atom physics to me, when comparing to my specs at least

Thu Dec 30, 2004 1:11 am

Who the hell is Calven? Anyway, my PC is more than 2 years old and still keeps up good with todays game (playing live 05, in 1280*1024 with maximum on players with great fps). The only thing I've updated is like earler said: my graphic card.

Thu Dec 30, 2004 1:25 am

Calven is Bluntman in disguise, who one day decided to abuse a bunch of people (or maybe it was just Jae?), but he wont admit it that it was him, even though we know that it was. :)

Thu Dec 30, 2004 6:08 am

If you guys just want a graphics card go to staples and buy the geforce 5200 fx for 40 dollars canadian :D :D :D

My old one was 6 years old. Yes that's right 6 years old. I played Live 99 on it when that game was new.
