Fear of ordering from Eastbay

Postby Tuomas on Tue Nov 02, 2004 12:35 am

Me and my friend ordered some stuff from Eastbay October 25th. First they informed that they didn't have the product we asked for in the order confirmation post. I e-mailed them to change it to a different one and they did it.
Then we got curious about the ordering times and status so we e-mailed them to asked what the "Open" status means in order status section. As an answer we got a reply that we should mail a different e-mailaddress. We did and they asked for us to verify our info and card info so they could proceed with the order (??? why didn't they mail us immediately after the order) and we did... :x
now it's 1st of November and no new info and the order status is still open

any europian (or other non-american) who has ordered from Eastbay, please tell me what you were supposed to do, how long did it take and how much were the customs charges? and if other things come to mind as well (Y) I would like to know

It takes about 2 to 3 weeks to get the order. They will charge you after you get your items. However, there is a big chance that you end up paying for taxes aswell, and that SUCKS bigtime...I learned that from experience.

Depends on what you are getting, when I got one of mine authentic Kobe Bryant jerseys that cost 140 dollars, I had to pay ike 60 bucks.

I ordered from Eastbay too and ended up paying tax too but even more...
The package which had to come from the USA to the Netherlands ended up in Frankfurt which isn't even on the route from USA-NL. They thought it contained drugs and opened it, after that they had to send it to the Netherlands so we had to pay those shipping costs too...

Maybe it is, or maybe people always think about drugs when they hear 'Netherlands' and I really don't know why?

You don't? I'll give you two kickass reasons:

1) Antillians. ( )
2) Legal weed.

Thats a good reason.

Canada has reintroduced a bill to decriminalize possession of small amounts of marijuana, meaning persons caught with 15 grams or less will face a fine rather than a criminal charge.

I got my Nike Shox VC's off Eastbay. And It was pretty good. Got it in like 3 weeks I think.
There was 2 bad things though:
- Eastbay charged for chipping them to Sweden, and the customs charged for taking them in, and then getting them to my city. So it cost a lot. Much more than I thought. Just get ready to pay.
- The shoes showed up being 1/2 size smaller than I wear. But that sorted out itself. If I just wear realy thin socks I can wear them for several hours before it starts to hurt. So be sure that it's the right size for you before you order, although that's too late now.

I order my stuff now from a swedish site. It doesn't have that much stuff that I like, but it has many cool stuff that has never before seen in my town  I blame that on the crapy sports store here, I meen c'mon; the best store has like 4-5 basketball shoes, and charges extremely high for last year stuff. Enoug of that now...

By the way, I orderd the Huarache 2K4's. But about 8 Hours later I recived a mail that said that they have run out... Sad moment.

gulp.... well, I guess nothing's free... how much exactly did they charge you?

I took size 9½ so that won't be a problem... my normal size is around 9-9½

url? do they sell to Finland? :)

you tell me, we have two shops in this 35000 people town, the other has 2 shoes and the other 2... that makes 4. Sorry, 3, because one of them is just a different colorway.
You see now why I wanted to order from Eastbay, I'm sick of this place!!!

I've tried them when we were south and they were awesome (Y) but it was the ugliest colorway in the world and it was 160€ (N)(N)(N)

Well, today the package arrived, 15 days after they were shipped.
This saved my whole year, the stuff is awesome. I guess they charge for customs afterwards though (N) well, more time to collect the money, but who cares!! I got my kicks :P

Maybe they were sent from Germany or something like that, then since they and you are a part of the EU, you don't have to pay custom charges... I'm not sure though...
How much extra did you pay apart from the stuff itself?

I orderd two t-shirts of that swedish site a while ago, turned out that one of them was to small.
Pisses me off that I have to pay to send it back to them in order to get my money back...

right now we have only paid the eastbay bill (products and shipping), so my Nike shox Elevates and a Jordan tee cost about 95 € (120$) :D (Y)
