LOL, Homer you can't even pretend to be drunk properly! You sound more coherent than you normally do. :D

Love... yes e-ladies can often be troubling. I find, the best way to relieve tension is "log off"

Anyways, so what is love?

I've thought about this question as i hear people talking about this all the time. From my experiences, love is a word (and when i talk love i'm talking about couples and not family love) that is thrown around a whole lot. It's like "sorry". Has anyone ever bumped into you and said "sorry"? I've bumped into people and said sorry but I've never actually was sorry. So love is also like that, do people really mean it when they say it?

With the high divorce rates (about 50% in Australia) i pondered about love. 50% of the population will get divorced so is it safe to say that their "love" wasn't strong enough? Or was there no "love" at all. Statistics show that marriages often fail in the first 5 yrs. This indicates to me that people just aren't "in love". Studies also show that people with multiple partners are more likely to get divorced than people w/o prior partners before marriage. [sorry I have no source, but i did a whole essay last year on marriage and divroce]

So my question is, if people are getting divorced at such high rates, where they ever in love? If you have "true love" for someone then shouldn't that prevent you from divorce? People that claim to be "in love" and then divorce often face communication problems which creates isolation. If you truly do love someone then your communication should never be broken. You should always be open and responsive to your partner. This is what people lack and it leads to marriage breakdowns.

In conclusion, i would say that few people are in love, and those that are are the ones that don't get divorced

P.S blah, sorry i was all over with my disjointed points.....it's too late atm

I agree with Matt on this. If you're really "inlove" then why do you get divorced??? Divorce rates here in the US are higher than Australia I would imagine...

Because the shit gets stale :)

most of the time the wife plays games with sex, after a while you just go out and find someone else.

^^^haha, interesting, but if you loved your wife would you cheat?

Going further, I don't know what anyone else thinks and this will sound kind of odd from a guy that is 18 but i think sex is just an extension of a relationship (marriage) and shouldn't be the focal point. According to many psychologists something like kissing or holding hands is more intimate than sex. In fact, couples that are fighting are more likely to have sex rather than kiss

Love just isn't enough. People think everything has to be perfect. I saw that thing recently on "current affair" or one of those programs (yeah I know their credibility is shit) about how there's a singles epidemic in Australia, something like 4 million people above the age of 25 are single, which is a quarter of our population. Anyway, it was some ridiculous number like that. It just seems like there are way too many factors considered before things can "fall into place". And all this etiquete bullshit, there's a fucking procedure for everything. We panic about every move we make because of what "she might think". At the same time most girls at school seem to be in long term relationships :?
