I think those guys' biasedness is seeing games, they aren't.

Frankly I've never liked ESPN's graphics, as has been said by dozens and dozens of people, to each their own.

I prefer Live because of guys like Tony, Mikki, Chetto & numerous others. I prefer Live simply because I've gotten used to Live. I like live because I enjoy using the Freestyle controls, I enjoy Live because it's playable on the PC.

I can't enjoy a game JUST for it's graphics. Gameplay appeals to some but with sliders my gameplay has just been solid. Ben's rosters have done the trick this year, hopefully I'll be able to test them for myself sometime this year. I'm looking forward to the 05 rosters.

ESPN is over-hyped. Honestly Live is thousand times better. I have never had an eager to play ESPN.

How can you say one is better without playing the other

It's like saying Chocolate is better than Vanilla without ever trying vanilla, but some people put too much base in graphics, graphics does not equal realism, it adds to it, but animations and gameplay equal realism much more than graphics do, graphics is one of the lesser things as long as it's decent it's fine.
