Do You Remember Your Dreams?

Tue Aug 10, 2004 2:22 pm

Another poll yet again, created by me...personally I can never remember my dreams... (this was inspired by the "I Had A Dream" Topic)

I'll vote yes, though I don't always remember them. You should have added a third option (Sometimes) for the pedantic among us like yours truly. ;)

^^^ yeah I agree with Andrew ... but I voted no because I rarely remember my dreams.

I don't remember anything while I'm asleep. I remember what I'm thinking before I fall alseep but after that I'm clueless. It makes me wonder what I dream about thought.

It drives me up the wall.

I remember them when i first wake up. For example i'll wake up and think "thank fucking christ that was just a dream" But then i'll often forget the dream during the day before i get to tell the story.

Some dreams I remember, some I forget.

One was a bit too realistic for my liking...all acid rain on my face and crap like that...what do you know I had fallen asleep at the school bench outside & it was raining.

I used to dream there was a chick in my room, and I'd wake up and I'd be all confused where she was, fall asleep again, dream that dream, wake up, being confused, etc. Haven't had that one for days though.

I've dreamt about the same girl (old classmate that I had a crush on for 3years ago) like 10 times or even more. I dreamt about her yesternight as well, I think i'm going crazy.

Next time, try making the mistake of shooting yourself. You'll make the world a better place. Be considerate.

Have any of you read Descartes?

He says that there is really no way to distinguish between reality and dreams.
I'm sure all of you had dreams where you felt that it was real when you were in it. But he says that might be the case with what we perceive as reality beacuse it does seem "real". And according to him, this could very well be a dream and we are not aware of it.

So what do you guys think about this theory?

For me, it seems hogwash but somehow, it is logical and I really can't think of a way to disprove it.

I don't know. It just seems weird. Your brain makes dreams based on what you have seen in your life. It makes like a story, something to do while you're asleep. So when you wake up I would think your brain would be fully aware that it made it up rather than being completely confused about the whole situation.

Maybe. I'm no genius.
