PS4 Thread - NA Launch November 15th, World 29th

Got my PS4, updated it, created an account, can't log in to psn even though I am watching someone live stream, and am waiting on my games to arrive. Heh.

Fairly certain Facebook/Twitter/Twitch all operate outside of PSN's availability. It went down a couple times last night when I was streaming and it never died off.

Been playing FIFA for about an hour.

Finally signed in, finally my games arrive and one of the cases is cracked badly. The disc was ok, though. I got to play killzone for 30 minutes.

Best buy did not have live 14 in stock. The site shows the 15th as the release date, so many people are getting it a few days early. I wonder if EA will fine them for the early releases.

The EA games didn't take a major graphical step up (madden/fifa). But the 60fps is nice.

If I do import, I assume I'll need a power adapter, but is there anything else? Consequences related to online, accessories, any other aspects?

If I go that route, what's the best place to get it from, keeping in mind I won't be purchasing until at least early next year?

Why import? It's region free. It's it not out in Australia?

NBA Blu-Rays used to be region free. I bought the 2010 Finals assuming the same would apply, but it was region-locked, so I can't play it. The PS4 is region-locked for movies.

So if I import, I'll finally be able to watch the 2010 Finals. And I'll have the option of purchasing region A Blu-Rays in the future. It probably won't cost that much more, given how expensive things are.

And since it's region-free for games, I'm free to buy games locally.

I don't know why so many people bought 2k here. Wasn't expecting it to be sold out So I settled for the PSN version.

And that brings up a problem with these nextgen systems. I bought a game, it's sold out and won't be available until December. They needed to have a system to transfer my purchase to the digital version.

This basically sums up how I feel about the PS4 and how I was with console gaming last gen.
