Coverboy Curse Strikes Again !

Is it a myth ? The infamous Madden Cover Curse has struck again, with Michael Vick suffering a fractured right fibula on Saturday Night in an NFL preseason game between the Falcons and the Ravens. Atlanta team owner Arthur Blank said after the game that the quarterback will be sidelined at least six weeks.
In 1999 the PAL cover of Madden featured 49ers running back Garrison Hearst who that same year suffered a devastating ankle injury that kept him sidelined for two years. In 2000 the PAL cover featured Dorsey Levens who later that year suffered the start of a tormenting sequence of injuries that have limited his playing time in recent years. The Madden 2001 cover featured Eddie George who had a disappointing season with stats well below those from the previous year both in terms of yardage run and touchdowns. In 2002 Daunte Culpepper graced the cover. Culpepper started first 11 games of the season before a knee injury ended his season abruptly. Last season coverboy Marshall Faulk was plagued by injuries and ran for less than 1000 yards for the first time since 1996.
