Other video games, TV shows, movies, general chit-chat...this is an all-purpose off-topic board where you can talk about anything that doesn't have its own dedicated section.

I want to keep an accurate perception of what's going on here. So, this is the place for members to post who do not hate me, or who do not hate the NLSC's rules.
As with my other thread, this is to help be constructive and let the mods and Andrew get an idea of how you feel.
By participating in this thread you are NOT saying that you are against any other member who feels the rules should be changed. I want this to stay constructive.
I'll start this thread by saying that, yes, the NLSC does have problems. But I like coming here, I like the members, and I like the game. It's not perfect but I don't see any reason to try and burn it down.

Who are you to tell who can post here and who can't? I "hate" you, I suppose, but am I in any way rude towards you? I question stupidity such as this, you saying who can post in what topic and what not, and I have a privelege to do so as a forum member. If you wish to segregate the community, so be it.
If you think you're helping matters, you're not, and you're only making yourself look more like a person who is simply power hungry. It's only a website, it's not a popularity contest, and if someone hates you, so be it....you're a moderator, it isn't your job to be liked by everyone. If you're in charge of keeping people in line, not everyone will like you. However, if they don't like you because of the way you keep them in line, that's your own doing...

I don't hate you. Like I've said before, I approve of keeping you around as a mod, whatever that is worth (probably nothing, if not less).

I don't hate EG either.
He might not make all the correct decisions for moderating but no one says that he can't change.
It's possible and I do hope you are given a second chance.
There are obivous problems going on here.
Let's try finding them and fixing them

Technically, this is his third chance. You must have missed the last time EG almost was fired....

Um, Shane, that was a disagreement between me and Andrew that led to a misunderstanding where he thought I said I was leaving. The truth is I went on vacation to LA and when I came back it was settled, privately and politely. The reinstatement note is on this same board.
I approve of keeping you around as a mod, whatever that is worth (probably nothing, if not less).

My thoughts exactly. For all the bluster we don't have many proposals for improvement of the boards. That's what the energy should be focused toward. If more than a handful of people want new rules, let's work on them then I'll gladly help enforce them. If they're loose, I will be too.

I dont hate you. I dont see how it's possible to hate anyone over the internet. I've spoken about various people over the years and said things like "i hate that prick" or whatever, but I think to feel true hate is impossible. From my perspective.

Fair enough, but members of the NLSC team are members of the community as well, and, as members of the community with more say than the average member, if they have suggestions which are shown, then we as forum and community members can have an idea of how far you guys are willing to go in regards to rules, improvements, and so on.
With that being said, the NLSC team should come up with suggestions as to how they can improve the board, and afterwards I'm sure members of the community would not hesitate to give feedback or their own suggestions if they knew they were not going to be censored or ignored. The team has to show they are willing to change more than simply modifying the rules slightly...although those modifications do clear up some issues.

You're 100% right. My suggestions are
here.

I'm willing to change. I just ask that we be constructive and not fall into name-calling. Your last post is exactly the type of thing I'm looking for. Thanks.

A good way of changing is not making threads like these requesting that people ONLY say good things about you or the rules. That's just what i think...no hatred from me either.

I'm not stifling either point of view here. When people are arguing it makes others less likely to share their thoughts...I'd prefer some people who haven't commented yet do so, so I want them to feel like they can here.

I'm thinking not just forum stuff, I'm thinking overall site improvements.

Here is my postive thoughts about NLSC:
I love the place, the mods are great (i have hardly seen a topic been locked without a good reason) the sections are great, and the high numbers of members make the place fun and great. When I signed up here back in january 2003 I would never guess how much of an impact the NLSC would have on me. One of the first things that pops up on mind when woken up at morning is NLSC, I wanna check if that awsome patch is released, I wanna check if those two people have stoped flaming yet, I wanna see the respons from member about my new patch etc.
Almost everytime you write something you'll get a respond within short time (weather it's bad or good). NLSC as we all know a place concerning the NBA Live games, but it have become a lot more than that. It's not just place to grab patches and talk about the game, it's as much a place to talk about your normal life, your thoughts about anything. I would say that many members here don't even give a crap about nba live @ all, they are here for to talk about how awsome Yao Ming will be in the future, how helpless Tracy Mcgrady is without any allstar players around him etc.
This shows that NLSC has evolved from (I don't know how it was before though, but I would guess) just another gamefan site/forum to something a lot bigger. Which I would bet everyone thing that I own that everyone here is happy about
My opinion on the rules which I already stated in another thread are:
Me, myself and I wrote:In my opinion the rules almost don't have to be read to be followed.
If you just follow your common sense and act by it you will not break any rules.
Only technical issues as sig size etc is what you need to know.
Other then that, just use your common sense
If you feel that you don't have any common sense you should read the rules
Also: The only issues I see about the mods is that James and Andreas Dahl dosen't seems to get in their roles as moderators properly. EGarret, Yohannce and Cameron are the ones that actually use their moderators role for real. On the other hand, Dahl and James may not yet been in that position that they needed to lock topics (etc.), what do I know.
However, I give NLSC 9.9 of possible 10 points

I agree with what Shane said... I think some things need to be changed, and also I've seen bad things happen here, including things done by EG, of course. But other guys already posted about that, there's no need to say it again. I know EG can change, but I dunno to which extent. I hope he is willing.
I stopped posting here for a while, that being one of the reasons. The other reason is that recently a brazilian NBA Live forum and site was formed, and people there called me to help them, so I kinda focused on that. But I'd be able to help here, too, if needed.

Lol so you keep saying... I think everyone would be cool with you helping

If anything there's been a decline. The quality of the patches arent what they were, thanks to people like Nick, Jowe and Tony working exclusively at .org. The quality of the forums is probably about 30% of what it used to be, you can ask Cameron about that we did some "educating" last night. The NLSC evolved from just another gamefan site/forum 3 or 4 years ago, not recently. I accept the fact that you're newer here so I guess you wouldnt have seen that

.... so, do I get everything you own yet?

*chuckle* Posititvity thread, nice touch Dr. Phil.
Anywho, positiveness:
Everything just needs to be re-vamped.
Slam Harder, there's nothing the site + forums can improve on? That's kind of hard to believe...

I'm one of those guys who is good at looking on the bright side of things, and I guess one bright side is that we can still post here about these problems and discuss them maturely - this site is not in such disarray that this could not be accomplished. All it needs is a tune up, and another positive is that there's lots of members working together for the common goal of the improval of the NLSC.
Jae wrote:you can ask Cameron about that we did some "educating" last night.
lmao

I definitely have a PHD in forum state changes
