Video Card Question?

Postby G-Game on Sun Sep 09, 2012 6:23 pm

Is there any way or possibilities to play my NBA 2K's or NBA Live game without using any video card? My video card just broke recently and i think i can buy a new high end video card maybe in next 2months. Thanks!

The NBA 2Ks are all CPU-intensive, and never used more than 30% of my 460GTX, so you definitely don't need a high-end GPU by today's standards. I doubt integrated solutions could handle the 30% my GPU takes up however, but it's all up to how smooth you want your framerate.

In the end, just try it out. If the results aren't to your liking, you'll know you need to buy a new one.

Thanks for replying but what i need to know is can i somehow play the game without a video card, i mean totally not having any graphic card attached on my PC? like basic games who don't need a use any GPU, (ex: plants vs zombies) can i do it on 2K or maybe in my older nba live game with low setting?

You should be able to get the last few PC versions of NBA Live to run on an on-board card, though you'll certainly be sacrificing detail settings.

Does your motherboard even have a VGA or DVI port on it?

Thanks for all the answers, i just don't like to buy whatever graphic card right now, so i have to wait for a month to get another high end gpu for my games like Dirt and NFS. Its always nice to play with max setting so i have to invest in a good graphic card. And by the way Andrew what particularly in live series can i play without gpu? i have live 2003-2008.

Hard to tell you much without knowing your system. Some ecent CPU's (last two years) with integrated graphics can play almost all games on at least medium settings. Post your CPU Mobo combo.

Great, now we'll never know if the guy actually had on-board video or not.

I can assure that i have on-board video, even without gpu i can still play a lot of game in my computer, if you really wants to know my specs here:
PSU = 800watts
CPU = Quad Core
RAM = 4GB
GPU = GTX 560 (now) before GTX 280.

Just perfect for Dirt 3 with max setting.
