My Game is a special type, it's called "Club and Country" game or C&C for short, and what you do is take control of a Nation, and a certain club from that same Nation, in a way to make that newly created players are of the highest standard for the future.
So, it's clear that the club functions for the Nation, so the decisions made are usually thinking of that. I favor national players over foreigners and usually try to sign only young foreigners, in order for them to try nationalization. I sign some foreigners as business also, buy low, play them and sell high.
So, with that settled, here are the Game Details:

Backstory:
December 2010: The Chilean football world is currently in turmoil due to the unexpected resignation of National Coach, Marcelo Bielsa, the one coach that put the Nation's name back in the World's lips has decided not to continue in his post, due to differences with the new Chilean Football Association (ANFP), President, Sergio Jadue, who replaced former FIFA consultant Harold Mayne-Nicholls, who was very close to Bielsa.
Also, Universidad de Chile fans have definetely lost their patience with Uruguayan coach Gerardo Pelusso, who led them to a Copa Libertadores semi final in August, but had a poorly second semester, blowing a 9 point lead in the last 12 matches and eventually being left out of the Copa Libertadores
2011 in the playoff. He was fired days after the playoff match that left them out of the Continental Football.
In an unexpected move by the Chilean FA, they hired the highly controversial and mediatic Eduardo Bonvallet, a former Chile International (from the youth ranks of Universidad de Chile), who after retiring has enjoyed little managerial experience, but has become a television personality due to his controversial and offensive tactical analysis of the National Team's matches, specially feuding with former National Managers Xabier Azkargorta, Nelson Acosta and Juvenal Olmos.
Two days after this decision, Federico Valdés, Universidad de Chile's chairman offered the vacant U. de Chile job to Bonvallet, who, couldn't refuse, citing, that "La U" is his favorite team and he never could say no to them.
Bonvallet announced a press conference during the week, to explain how will his new teams work.
(Note: Bonvallet exists and he's a truly awesome character, he self-proclaimed himself as a Football Guru. If you understand spanish, please see this videos and laugh. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fu7H6RRdWIQ; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zT-ycHAJC1Q)

Universidad de Chile 2011 Pre-Season Report
Overview
Universidad de Chile currently play in the Chilean First Division, an 18 team division, that plays two championships per year, Apertura from January to June and Clausura from August to December. After the 17 games of the regular season, the 8 best placed teams qualify for a playoff, with Home and Away games (Quarter Final, Semi Final and Final). We have won the tier 13 times, the last being in the Apertura 2009.
We have fierce rivalries against Colo Colo (arguably the most popular team in Chile, with Universidad de Chile, and by far the most successful, with 29 titles) and against Universidad Católica, while having a smaller rivalry with Cobreloa.
We host out games at Estadio Nacional, a 49.000 all-seater ground in Santiago, Chile, which by the way, we don't own, so that's an objective to complete soon.
The objectives for the season are to Qualify for the Copa Libertadores through a championship, either by winning the Apertura or Clausura stages. The board doesn't regard the Copa Chile important and it isn't a focus for the team (I have decided to play it with U-23 players, specially ones without much first team football).
The team has Top Training Facilities, Good Youth Facilities, Average Junior Coaching and Above Average Youth Recruitment, so there's another area of improvement.
In terms of transfers, Eduardo Vargas is currently sold to Napoli, leaving the club in January 2012 (end of first season), for €10,750,000, of which 65% come directly to us. Junior Fernández and Roberto Cereceda are signed and will join the club also in January. We have a long list of loaned players, but neither of them is an alternative for the first team, and will probably be offloaded in the future.
Best Players
- Johnny Herrera is the team's starting Goalkeeper and one of the leaders of the squad. He comes from our youth system, and returned this season, after playing in Corinthians, Everton and Audax Italiano.
- Marcos González is the team's starting Sweeper (and ocasional Center Back). González is currently the sub-captain of the squad and also comes from the youth ranks of Universidad de Chile. He returned this season, after playing for Colón, Palestino, Colombus Crew and Universidad Católica.
- Marcelo Díazis the starting defensive-oriented Central Midfielder. He's a modern CM, very good with the ball and with great passing ability who has played his entire career at Universidad de Chile.
- Charles Aránguiz is the starting Playmaker of the squad. He is a Central Midfielder (who also plays as a Right Wing-Back), with great dynamic and passing ability. He is from the youth ranks of Cobreloa, and arrived this season, after playing for them, Colo Colo and Quilmes.
-Eduardo Vargas is the gem of this team. The Right Winger is a very versatile player with great pace and finishing ability. He will leave the club after the first season, to play for Napoli. He comes from the Cobreloa youth ranks and arrived a couple of seasons ago, after playing only for Cobreloa and "La U".
Best Youth Prospects
- Igor Lichnovsky is a 16 year-old Center Back, with 1.5/4.5 CA/PA. He is registered for the first team, but will see most action with the U-20 and Reserves Team.
- Nicolás Maturana is an 17-year old Attacking Midfielder and Left Winger, with 2/4.5 CA/PA. He is also registered for the first team, but will play mostly for the U-20's and the Reserves Squad.
- Sebastián Martínez is an 17 year-old Central and Right Midfielder, with 1.5/4 CA/PA. He is appointed as the reserve Defensive Minded CM for the squad, so he'll see some first team action during the season.
Pre-Season
In terms of transfers it was a quiet pre-season, with no movement whatsoever.
We arranged 5 pre-season matches. The results were mixed, with good results and play against Chivas and the two smaller teams (Magallanes and Academia Quilpué), a good show but bad result against Sao Paulo and a horrible game against Unión La Calera. This was quite expected though, because the tactical setup is quite unusual and it'll take some time to get used to, for the players.

Squad
After the cuts, the 23-man squad is the following:
Squad
Miscelaneous
- In terms of training, we set up a "La Masía" type of schedules, with little physical training and a ton of on-ball work, balancing with heavy physical (quickness or strength, depending on the player) Individual Training Focus. The coaches look like this:
Training
- Tactically, we plan on using a 3-3-1-3 formation, unorthodoxly arranged, where the back 3 are González, González and Rojas; The mid 3 are Mena, Díaz and Rodríguez; The 1 is Playmaker Aránguiz; And the front 3 are Vargas, Canales and Castro. The team's backup tactic is a 4-1-2-3, with the replacement of José Rojas by Gustavo Lorenzetti.

Chile 2011 Initial Report
Overview
Chile's season start with a ton of Friendlies, because, there is no chance of playing the 2011 Copa América in the game. During May, the WC Qualifiers will be drawn and we'll know what's our path and our objectives for that phase.
Key Players
-Pablo Contreras: The experienced Center Back is the best defender of the team and one of the leaders off the pitch. He plays for PAOK in Greece and has 53 caps and 1 goal.
- Gary Medel: The Defensive Midfielder is a very versatile player, who can help not only in the middle of the field, but also in the back, at the Center Back and Right Back positions. The 24 year-old player, plays for Sevilla and has 31 caps and 3 goals.
- Alexis Sánchez: The undisputed star of the team is a very dangerous Winger and Striker, and with his dribbles and on-ball magic can disrupt any defence. The 22 year-old player currently plays for F.C. Barcelona and has 41 caps and 14 goals.
Best Prospects
- Matías Campos Toro is a 21 year-old Left Wing Back and Left Winger that plays for Audax Italiano. He has 3 international caps and 1 goal. He's featured in the first squad.
- Eduardo Vargas is a 21 year-old Winger and Striker who plays for Universidad de Chile, but already has agreed a move to Napoli for January 2012. He has 5 international caps and 2 goals. He is in the squad, and probably will be a starter for Chile's debut. He's the natural partner for Alexis Sánchez, and Chile will have a very dangerous wing duo.
- Diego Rubio is an 18 year-old Striker who plays for Sporting in Portugal. He's a very agile forward, with football DNA (his father and older brother were Chile Internationals). He has 1 international cap and features in the first squad.
