Lille surprise with two new signings

ImageImage

As of today, the management of Lille have acquired two new players out of different places.

Their first new signing was Ji Dong-Won, a exciting forward, with a lot of potential. The 19 year old player is ecstatic to rise in to new levels of competitions, as Lille have signed him from the Chunnam Dragons, for a five year deal, with a transfer fee of 3 million.

Wong himself said that playing in this new team will help him get better and into the bigger teams in Europe. "I am very happy about this opportunity, I do not want to disappoint my staff or teammates."

Another new player is the Thomas Kraft, a 22 year old Goalkeeper, from Bayern Munich. Lille OSC have signed him for five years, with a 7,2 million transfer fee. Bayern fans however feel quite disappointed of losing their trusted goalkeeper, given that Butt is getting pretty old. "This is an absurd trade ! What are the managers in Bayern thinking!"

But with Lilles main GK Michael Landreau having a bit of age on his skin, this signing might change a lot for the goalkeeper spot. We will see how these players adept in their new team.

FC Lorient vs LOSC Lille
August 8, 2010

Both teams were amped up to start the season in a high note. With Lille not playing their new signings in the first game, they still looked confident and ready for a fight. FC Lorient however want to start their Ligue 1 journey with high hopes and expatiation.

First half
started off with an attacking style of play, with both teams hoping to get their goals in a hurry. Lille quickly got their chances, as Cabaye shot the ball, earned a corner, with Moussa Sow hit the ball to the post. With some great passing game, they had a chance to dominate the game.

Lorient on the other hand did not have a lot of chances. Their biggest and best chance came from a free-kick, which was shot really over. It was pretty much a Lille game in the first, with the great passing. They did not let go in the defensive end, as Adil Rami earned a yellow card for a harsh tackle.

But with both teams not letting each other score, the first ended as a exciting but with a disappointing 0-0 scoreline.

Second half however started with a super chance, as FC Lorients striker got himself to a one on one situation, but hit the ball against the crossbar. Lilles striker Gervinho did the same, as he earned a corner. It was not the only chance he had with his head, as Edin Hazards cross got him a great chance, which the goalkeeper caught.

Lille still pushed on as their main man Edin Hazard tried to earn himself a goal, but FC Lorients goalkeeper Audard still held his and did not let them pass. But when Gervinho went on one on one, he punished Audard and shot the ball into the top part of the net, making the score 1-0 on the 76th minute.

Lille still pushed on and attacked, as they still wanted to increase their lead. Lorients players still held themselves in defense, but they were bad, as Tulio de Melo had a perfect chance to make the score 2-0, but missed the chance.

But after that, it was all Lille game, as they were dominating and not letting Lorient attack, ending the game 1-0, and getting their first three points.

SM Caen vs LOSC Lille
August 15

After 1-0 win against FC Lorient, Lille faced SM Caen. Caen however drew their first match Lyon. As Ji Dong Won was a starter, T.Kraft stayed on the bench.

First half started out very attacking by both teams. Lille had many goal scoring chances,as Moussa Sow shots went over the bar in 21.min and 45.min. Edin Hazard earned a corner, with Moussa Sow hit the ball just over the crossbar.

But with neither team letting a goal in, the half ended 0-0.

Second halfstarted off with great chances by both teams. Y.Mollo had a great chance from 18 yards but Mickaël Landreau
denied the challenge. On the 68 .min Moussa Sow got a pass from Yohan Cabaye and scored his first goal. Edin Hazard tried to make the score 2-0 in 85.min but Alexis Thebaux caught the ball and punted it to half line. After that it was a possession game by Lille.
