Anybody know how to fix scrollbar in chatbox?

Hi guys,
I'm having problems with the scroll in any browser based chat(facebook, gmail...etc). What happens is when the chat hits the bottom of the box it will auto-scroll for me a couple times then just get stuck forcing me to manually scroll it down, but when I get another new message it will scroll back up to where it got stuck. It is getting really really annoying and it happens in both browsers that I use.(Chrome/FF) Anybody have any suggestions/fix for this? Thanks for reading!

have u got latest adobe? latest flash? up to date browser, nothing is bugged?

yes, everything is up to date. I've tried re-installing both Chrome and FF with no change.
