Best hip hop songs from NBA Live titles

What are the best hip hop songs from NBA Live games for you?

I loved Live 2005's soundtrack. Now those songs (and that game) have tremendous sentimental value. "Us V. Them" was the highlight of Live 08, the last Live game I bought.

like Lam all of the NBA Live soundtracks hit me with some kind of nostalgia when I listen to them. Means a lot to and the only time I get new music each year is when the new games hit. There are probably less than 5 songs I truly cannot stand in the NBA Live games.

I actually couldn't stand 2k9's soundtrack, I remember turning every song off except for 3 (Spaz, Heavies, Gnarls Barkley)

That was fun, I really wish the 2k11 3D tool would update for stadiums already and REDitor would come out so I can listen to this playlist again.

I actually preferred the songs on Live 2003's TRU09 mod more than any of the songs on the original. I don't listen to any of them, since I rotate my own songs in and out of the game.

Live 2000. Run DMC & Rahzel killed it.
Live 98. Nostaligia. NBA Live band.
Live 2001. Montell Jordan , Bootsy Collins was decent
Live 2004. Ghettomusick, Hands Up
Live 2005. Me Against You, Here We Go, Go!, It's In Da Game (Murphy Lee )
Live 06 (my favorite). My STyle, Don't Stop, Grind Time, Remember The Name (one of the best live songs ever), In THe House, Tilted (which was on pretty much every EA game that year)
Live 07. Kick, Push
Live 08. The way I are
Live 10. All Eyez on ME (2pac ), Lodi Dodi (love the west coast stuff), Champion, World Tour

I didn't include the BEP stuff since I stopped liking them once Will i am started doing his own stuff but back in the day those were some of my favorites too

yeah i would say live 06 is top 3 for me overall but definitely tops for soundtracks. and i liked it how you could set it up so you could choose which song would be played first when you started the game up

06: My style, God of Rap, Grind Time

08: Tell Me Bout it, It Makes No Difference to Me, Us V Them

10: All Eyez on Me (although the original was much better), Still Bigger Than


08 was probably the best, with Joss Stone and the Hives, but 06 has more nostalgia value for me. 10 was a bit weak in the soundtrack department

From live 2005 i liked all the soundtracks, specially The D.O.C. - Mind Blowin
Live 2006 had also great songs. I think the best was Black Eyed Peas - My Style
Live 2007 - Lupe Fiasco - Kick, Push
I kinda skipped 2008 year
nba 2k9 - Beastie Boys - Root Down, N.E.R.D. - Spaz
nba 2k10 - Also most of them were good. Fav. was Ace Hood – Top of the World
nba 2k11 - So far i like Drake – Over, Dan Black feat. Kid Cudi – Symphonies

Agreed, that was one of the best live/2k songs ever.

For some reason, I like Shutterbug, That song with the crazy rap and the instrumental was used in a 2k vid, and Gimme a symphony on 2k11

2k11 has an awesome soundtrack... I love the fact that Snoop Dogg has the theme song and he raps about game sliders

So Far is good, I also like Symphonies by Dan Black and Kid Cudi and Pourin it On by Dux Jones.

This is the type of song that gets you pumped up to play, except for the fact that this one was for NBA Live 07.

Haven't been playing basketball video games too long to know many NBA Live rap songs. Off the top of my head, All Eyes On Me and Daylight Remix were probably my favorites from Live 10, and Ballin' is a shoe-in too. Haven't gotten familiar with the 2K11 soundtrack, but I like the one song that has Drake in it, don't know the name though.

Same here. I think the soundtrack sucks. Give me old skool hip-hop combined with 70s/80s soul & funk jams.
