There is no justification for murder, and thats what terroisim is. Plain and simple... What would you do if you were america? After september 11, it was obvious that the us couldnt just sit on its hands and hope that another terroist strike would happen to them. so what did they do? they went after those bastards and guess what? no terroist attack on the us since.

Revenge can be justification for murder in some people's eyes. An eye for an eye. Obviously every situation is subjective, and I understand that by now the score is irrelevant, and everybody wants to kill everybody. Yeah there have been no terrorist attacks on America yet... unfortunately you cannot end terrorism. Like somebody else said, how are you going to distinguish between a terrorist and an ordinary person? A dude can walk into a building with a bomb under his coat and blow the the place up. There's millions of Habibs walking around America, around Aussieland, especially Sydney, any one of them could be an extremist waiting to explode. I guarantee you it'll happen again, and each and every time it's going to get closer to home and it's going to hurt more. I don't think most people can understand the hatered towards America. Hell many countries try to emulate their way of life and still hate them for their actions. So is the war on terror going to end terrorism, or is it going to increase hatred and make it worse, to the point where you Matthew and me downunder have to fight because "big brother" gave us no choice? Then again whether you support the war on terror or not, you could be on the hitlist. I hope Australia can stay out of it as much as possible. The war on terror is like fighting the invisible man... there's not much you can do apart from nuke the whole world. Well... as long as they don't dirty my car, I just washed it

I agree terrorisim cant be 100% stoped, but it can be contained. I'd rather live in a society that we choose, rather than one terroists dictate to us, which is what would have to happen in theory for the attacks to stop. To me, George bush isnt a war monger as he is portayed, bin laden, sadaam and their cronies are. they are the ones who attack innocent civilians. to put any validity on what they are doing, wouldnt they be attacking the political figures themselves.. the john howards, the tony blairs etc etc rather than people on a train (spain), or people on holiday (bali) or people at work (new york).

Btw, i'd never goto war unless if australia was invaded. If we were invaded, then i would. You have to fight for what you believe in. One day bin laden will die or get captured. People mustve thought that the nazi empire would never crumble and it did. Just look at sadaam, he had more recources than bin laden does, and he was found in a hole. A fucking hole  . If america was going into afganistan or even iraq, with the intention of killing thousands and thousands of innocent civilians just becuase they arent americans, i would hate america too. Terrorisim is just murder, and i have the feeling with america and all its allies creeping up the talibans arse, they are feeling the heat and they arent able to produce anything like september 11 ever again (or at least i hope not). if america didnt put the clamps on, how long would it be before sadaam produced (assuming he didnt already) a nuclear or biological weapon and unleash it on the western world? dont think these bastards have a consience, becuase they dont.
I hate terrorism, and i somewhat reluctantly stand behind johny howard and bush on this. im reluctant becuase im not blind. i can see that we are the main target now becuase we are standing up to them, and i can also see that innocent people die in these conflicts. but i cant see another let alone a better way to tackle it.
