Games for PS3 going foward?

Sorry, I'm not kept up with the discussions here or on other game sites.

Let me ask this.

With the PS4 out now, when will games not be offer on the PS3 going forward. Using NBA 2K as an example. Do you think 2015 will be the last year? What have you read, or using past history with the PS2-PS3 as an example.

I'm asking this to better plan my games vs console strategy.

Currently, still very happy with PS3. But I know there will be a time, I will (should get) the PS4.

There will most likely be at least another 3 years of sports games for PS360, if not more. As for other games, who knows. NeoGAF said a lot of good PS2 games came out after the PS3 was released, but I was already on to the 360 by then.

"legacy edition"? does that mean a roster update?

I believe Sony will just slowly phase out the PS3 within the next couple years like the PS2 and PS1. We will most likely see a year or 2 of good games until we get ports of stuff. By then people would be on next gen consoles I assume.

Hmm. I still got couple PS3 titles that I'm waiting for like FF x3 and stuff. And tons that I haven't even tried after buying like Tokyo Jungle, GOW Ascension, and stuff. And still need to buy games like Journey, Beyond Two Souls, Metal Gear Rising and stuff.

I have been also eyeing at PS4 system but current titles are laughable. None of them interests me really. Also there aren't titles to come that excites me that much yet. Now I don't know if I am ever gonna pick up PS4 in 2014. I will perhaps wait for next version of PS4, like PS4 slim or whatever they're gonna call em.

Would highly recommend Beyond and the other Quantic Dream game, Heavy Rain.

Heavy Rain was aweeeesome. According to a few reviews I seen, Beyond isn't better but I am still a die hard fan of the genre so I will probably love it anyhoo.

Metal Gear Rising isn't that great TBH. I find it kinda easy.

At minimum, 155 million consoles sold. Production on the hardware itself only shut down a year ago. They're also still putting out the Final Fantasy XI expansions for the PS2.

Few people know this but PS1 games went a decade too. Madden 2005 and NFL GameDay 2005 both had PS1 releases. FIFA 2005 as well.

I actually have a copy of Live 2003 for the PS1 I got new off a Target clearance rack for like $5-10. It's Live 2000 with updated gameplay/jerseys/etc.

God of War 2 was released a year after the PS3, Persona 4 was released 2 years after the PS3. There might be other exclusives that I might have miss but I think we are going to get some good exclusives till then before Sony pull the plug.

I have a view that the games of PS3 will soon have compatibility over the later version.The upcoming games are Titanfall and Watch Dogs.

Not one mention of Dark Souls 2? (Yes I'm kind of a fanboy of the souls series, picked up Demon's Souls and it's successor) That's probably the only game I'll be playing on PS3 when it releases. I recommend it obviously, although I haven't played anything but the beta (which was exhilarating). If you haven't tried Demon's Souls or Dark Souls, go for it!

I heard that players FFXIV would move for PS4 free and Diablo 3 for PS4 is on the way!
