how to make custom transparent game icon? example the logo of EA or 2K sport, i want only the letter EA will be visible and the whole background will be transparent. i tried to save it to .png format but no luck.

You need an icon editor where you pick which pixels would be transparent. I was using GreenICO before, but the antialiasing sucks.

I've been able to save .ico files with transparency using GIMP.
