Dead Rising 2

Fri May 28, 2010 7:31 am

Some of you might be familiar with the first 360 only Dead Rising. What makes me hyped up for this game is because it's going to be released also for the PC. I love making hordes of undead permanently dead, like L4D. The possibility of mods for the PC version is what really interests me. Mod the character to look like Bruce Campbell for some zombie killing? I'm gonna come get some if there is one. The protagonist from the first game, Frank West, might even be modded back to the game because he's covered wars ya know!

From its Wiki page wrote:players to manufacture their own custom weapons at various points in the game....
...Such combinations include the "Hail Mary," a hand grenade duct taped to a football, "Dynameat," a stick of dynamite duct taped to a piece of meat, the "Paddlesaw," two chainsaws duct taped to a kayak paddle, and "Freedom bear," which is a giant stuffed bear with a Rambo-style headband and a machine gun that acts as a turret.

Combining items to make your own weapon, oh fucking yeah.

Time to paddle in wave after wave of zombies.

Its slated for release come September. I hope it doesn't get delayed, again. Hoping also that the multiplayer experience isn't 'laggy' for the PC.
This and Starcraft 2 may be the only reasons for me to upgrade my hardware if my dinosaur system can't handle it.

Edit: Shite, I just remembered a Capcom method of copy protection. Must be always connected to the internet. Fuck.

Out in September? How nice, just when I am back to a full time school.

The game looks good. Hoping this ain't one of those typical first person shooter game.

Have you seen the first one? The first one was a mall full of thousands of zombies. And you.

Ahh... The first one looks like a fun game. I can notice the game makers got the idea from dawn of the dead the movie.

Yep, and they were sued by them but they (Capcom) won the case. I think the game box even has a statement that in no way the game is related to it.

Cool. The concept of the game alone is interesting enough for me. Being trapped in the mall with 100s of zombies to slaughter. I am picking this up, that is if my school is relaxing enough.

Worthy of a bump. The game's great. Got to play DR2: Case Zero from a friend and I'm definitely picking this up for PC (releasing this Friday).

This time the psychopaths are a pain in the ass. Really hard to take them down.

Played the first one a lot, but it wasn't that good. DR2 looks like more of the same gimmicky gameplay that isn't all that fun.

Bump.

Picked up the game today. I had an hour of run. Too much cut scenes, maybe 20-30 mins was all typical zombie movie talk. Infection, rescue, antidote, blah blah. Killing zombies, ofcourse, is a lot of fun, especially in left for dead. But, this game, i don't know... Too repetitive. The gameplay that is. Graphics, it's ok, had in on max, 1280 X 1024 @ steady 60fps. I'm not amazed. Maybe the shaders are the problem. Conclusion, 'would choose left 4 dead 1 and 2 with an inferior graphics than this one, but more fun gameplay. But i'll still play it for some time and maybe my thoughts would change.
