Save Profile on NCAA Football 09 PS3

After a season I won a few trophies. PS3 ask me do I want to save in my Profile. Yes. Select the right profile. Saved. It's there. Checked. It's there.
Turn off game.
From PS3 menu. Want to back up my profile on USB drive. Backed up. Done. Now my profile seems gone.
What did I do wrong?
You would think maybe I backup the other way. My destination was the USB drive.
Did this twice. I played two seasons so far, and each time I lost all my trophies.
