Dragon Age Thread: Witch Hunt DLC

Mon Jul 13, 2009 12:12 am

I've been a fan of BioWare RPGs since the Baldur's Gate games to Mass Effect. And this one -- Dragon Age: Origins -- hints to be another classic. As for what I read, the gameplay focuses on backstories, or "Origins." Your created character will play through the backstory and into the game's main plot, where characters from the backstory may affect the main plot. This will be amazing and holy fuck yeah, there will be a lot of dragon-slaying.

:hump:

Requirements have been set, and what I've read on Wikipedia, the game's projected disk space consumption is 20GB.

Seen some combat gameplay videos. It's pretty much like Knights of the Old Republic and Baldur's Gate where you can switch between party members on the fly.

Game is set to be released in November I think. Wonder what's the promo for Mass Effect 2? As for what I've heard, if you order ME2, you get a BLOOD DRAGON ARMOR in-game, as part of Dragon Age: Origins' promotion.

Tried the Character Creation Demo days before the game's release:

Funny how you can customize the character's portrait as well.

Cool you have it. I still have to wait for the following week.

How was it?

I usually don't get into rpg's much. But this is really good. Gameplay is smooth and fun. Graphics are nice too.
Decided to play as human class warrior. Going for a melee tank. Last game like this I played was diablo 2.
And I love my doggie. I'd make a screen shot of how my character looks, but he is wearing a pretty stupid helmet at the moment.

Please do. I'm really hyped at the moment.

It's really because it's a BioWare game that's why I feel this hyped.

This is the first boss I ran into. He almost made me quit playing being that hard.

Been playing this for a few days now, and damn, is it awesome xD Goddamn funny, too  Listening to your companions talking sure can make you laugh.
Zevran to Morrigan: "You're very intelligent. I wonder, why haven't we made love yet..." (or something along these lines)

I'm a lvl 9 Dalish elf. Though, I somehow missed out on the dog... I probably can't go back now...

The dog (or mabari, or mutt  ) is a good addition to the party so far. Fends off enemies effectively.

This game has a Baldur's Gate feel in it. I like it. (Y)

WTF, is the dog taking steroids?

this game seriously owns so much fun. i bought borderlands and this at about the same time and i cant get myself to even consider playing borderlands now. after trying them both i know that game will sit there awhile lol

I think BioWare treats their dogs as an entirely new race that's why the muscles are abound.

EDIT: That boss fight with the ogre is amazing. Tough nut.

Anyway this game got me to the bone. *daydreams* It's the style of RPG that I've been looking for so long.

i hear ya lean. usually i am playing poker, alot. its the main reason i have not been here as often. this game is pulling me away from the poker tables for awhile. i sit at work all damn day wishing i could play it. i wish i could find a good character planner so i had something to do during breaks at work.

looking at those pics i can tell you are ahead of me, probably well ahead. not sure what you have done but i played out all 6 origins before picking the human warrior to go with. wanted a ranger but man bows are bad, at least early.
