Other video games, TV shows, movies, general chit-chat...this is an all-purpose off-topic board where you can talk about anything that doesn't have its own dedicated section.

What would you say is your most prized possession? Just to make it interesting, it has to be a physical possession, so not life, health or someone you care about (who you shouldn't classify as a possession anyway, but I digress).
For me, it's a tough choice because I have a fair amount of stuff that would be difficult to replace and a lot of expensive entertainment equipment that make up a good part of my leisure time. I suppose I would have to say my computer because of the amount of time I spend on it and things I do with it, ranging from gaming to maintaining the site to keeping in contact with everyone. If we're talking about things we'd save in a fire though, it certainly wouldn't be the easiest possession to salvage.

Unfortunately, I'd have to say my PC too...How sad.

My basketball shoes and jerseys. Those are my most obsessed and prized possession. Touch my shoe and I go berserk.

My Diploma, Degree, and my Basketball Awards from High School/College.
Means a lot more to me than anything I've bought.

My life is my most prize possesion. Jokes aside, I'd have to say my iphone and my box... Almost everything I do goes through my iphone, and i text a lot and i write a lot of notes and have some very useful apps. My box just has small possessions like my diploma, Patrick Ewing and Q-tips autographs, a note from my mother, a note from my ex, and small things like that. But sadly, my phone is my most prized possession.

Another notch for my computer. Add in my degree, basketball awards, and a selected few of my design books.

Computer-6
Real Life-0
Theres honestly nothing but my computer and maybe 2 posters i'd wanna save.
Although I guess the item i really need the most and would be fucked without would be my chair...

A particuliar family picture with both my uncles and grandfather present in it with the rest of us. It's the only one we have with us all.
Sad to say that 3 of the 8 people in that picture are dead.
Sat Jan 10, 2009 11:31 am
That definitely makes those of us saving our computers seem very materialistic. My photo album would have to rank up there, come to think of it.

My comp is most important
got all my pics and music on it. that music collection would take ages to get back...
Sat Jan 10, 2009 9:07 pm
I thought PC too at first, but the music & movies I could get back, no matter how long it took...that picture I couldn't. Well photoshop is an option, but you know what I mean...
Sat Jan 10, 2009 9:38 pm
Probably my computer and my records. My dad gave me his old LP collection a few years ago and I can't live without it.
Sat Jan 10, 2009 10:52 pm
Well, the lone proof that I graduated a degree is most important to me. Followed by the stuff that I actually bought.
Sun Jan 11, 2009 2:11 am
I'd have to go with my B-ball shoes, my Kobe Jersey and my Basketball awards. If u damage any of that, I'll beat the shit out of you, and also there is my B-ball.
But the ultimate possession is my big Johnson and my balls

Graphic novels, comics, books, NBA cards. That's about it.
If a fire breaks out, I plan to put it all on the bedsheet, wrap it, then get the hell out.

if it means that much, why not scan it just in case? then you could upload it so you never lose it (even if its not original)
Sun Jan 11, 2009 10:17 am
Oh that too, but the original was printed for us by one of the uncles, so that's where I was coming from.
Sun Jan 11, 2009 2:55 pm
My necklace, given to me by my mum.

Depending on how much time I had, I'd grab my external hard drive that I do regular backups on and probably the expandable file with my receipts, business records etc in it. Or toss as much stuff as I could out into the yard and follow it out the window.

Well I have my new tft .. LG 22 inch .. my PS3 for sure. My new digital cam ^^ well seems like Im pretty materialistic.
Well I guess many photoalbums although my newest pics are on my PC anyway.
I have a great picture a friend painted for me for christmas two years ago. Its a big version of a "Michael Jordan against Magic Johnson" picture ... I cant find any link right now, but it was loads of work and looks awesome.
Im also quite a shoe freak .. so I would try to throw out as many shoes as possible

Right now for me it would be my watch which I got from my parents for my 21st. I sometimes get paranoid when im out on the town and drunk off my face and end up giving it to one of my mates who I deem as far more sober than me to look after.
Otherwise I Iamagine that once I graduate in May my Degree will be pretty important to me.
EDIT: I guess I would have to say that my computer is quite important to me since I spend so much time on it, but to be honest I would rather it bruned in a fire or something so I could then use the insurance money to get a newer one. Where as things like my watch from my parents are irreplaceable.
Thu Jan 29, 2009 6:12 pm
Absolutely, so long as I can salvage my backups the loss of my computer wouldn't be too bad with insurance and all.
I still couldn't pick just one thing that had incredible sentimental value though, nothing stands out immediately as a more painful loss than a similarly treasured possession.

my faith in love is the most prized possession for me!
at second place is my PC, it's really sad, but it's tru!
