Problems with the forum

I often have problems with the forum. The site is down and doesn't load and when it is online again after some time I am not logged in.

I get logged out every third day or so.

Should I use Firefox instead of IE? What can I do about this problem?

Nothing. It is a problem with our server.

Unfortunately we still have some issues every now and again. We've been able to make some progress with our last round of maintenance but we have some other solutions we hope will improve the situation.

I changed it once for Drex already, but very well.

Yeah, it will wrap with spaces. And since I've lost interest now...

There was much rejoicing.

The forum is driving me nuts. I can only access it 20% of the time. At 11 pm it gets better but in the afternoon (CET) it's down all the time or up some seconds, then you click on post and the forum goes down for minutes again.

Too many users?

I finally get here after 2 days of trying, right now it´s working very well, but sometimes there are some periods, when I just can´t get here.

Unfortunately we're very much aware of the problems flaring up again, they have been getting worse again as of late. It's back to the drawing board in trying to fix it, we're sorry for the inconvenience (it's really frustrating for us as well) but we'll get there eventually. Unfortunately whenever one solution appears to be working for us, we find ourselves admist these issues again.

This is easily one of the biggest/greatest forums if this problem is fixed, it's really irritating, it will take 10 hours before nlsc is online again,

I refresh every once in a while when I think about it, and when it finally pops up, it will always say there's 50+ guests (sometimes 60+) on the site. I know you probably have a good idea of what's going on on the back end, but just in case you didn't know.

In my experience, when everything is working properly the Forum tends to run very smoothly and load very quickly but as you've all experienced when we run into the issues, it's downright awful. As I said before, we're once again exploring new fixes as the last ones proved to be less permanent than we were hoping. Believe me, I'm as frustrated as everyone else as I not only want the Forum to be online for my own use, I want to provide a good service for everyone else who wishes to use it.

We did run several "fixes" for this about a week ago. One of which was a quick fix against bots/spyders, which lowered the amount of guests quite a bit.
However, I believe the reason you're not seeing much of a change is because I also increased the time limit for the forum to show online users, from 5 minutes to 10, to help me run IP checks on these "guests"..

Well, I don´t know if its temporaryly, but right now forum is working very well for me, for last an hour or so(wasn´t here before). If there is still problems, hope you´ll get it solved soon.

As I said, when it's working it tends to do so extremely well and without incident, but when we run into problems it's just awful. The troubleshooting goes on.

Some troubleshooting measures were causing a few problems but those functions should be working again now.
