I've forgotten Metal Gear's storyline

I'm playing Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance on my PC. And to be honest, I don't know the characters except for the main ones (Snake, Otacon, Ocelot, etc.), but guys like Liquid Snake are characters that I'm not familiar with.

I've played the first Metal Gear Solid game. Can anyone familiarize me with the other characters? (Big Boss, Liquid Snake, Solidus Snake, the folks at FOXHOUND)

That has to be the most homosexual name I have ever heard.

Indeed. Though I haven't seen him in-game as of yet. He was only mentioned at the latter part of the Tanker missions.

BIg Boss is basically Solid and Liquids father, they were cloned off him. If you play Snake Eater you will get to play as Big Boss, if your playing Substance then your not evening playing the real MGS2 which is called Sons of Liberty. Solidus Snake is another supposedly clone of Big Boss and looks relatively similar.

You know Otacon and Ocelot and yet you don't know Big Boss and Liquid Snake?
Big Boss and Liquid are part of the main plot in the first MGS.
I'm starting to think you really live under a rock.

Solidus Snake

Yep, he's also a clone off Big Boss. I think he's also the president of the U.S.A in the plot of MGS.

What's the difference between Substance and Sons of Liberty?

Pretty sure Substance is a gimic mission thing where as Sons of Liberty is the actual storyline.

You mean the tanker mission is just an addition to Sons of Liberty and re-released it as Substance?

Sons of Liberty is the original MGS2 but Substance has like added features and stuff like VR Missions and Snakes Tales, i dunno if it has the actual story game cos i havent played it.
