Lil' Romeo Got A Full Scholarship!?!?!

Sun Apr 15, 2007 8:50 am

Rapper Lil Romeo will play for USC

I put this here in genral talk because its not NBA, and I didn't want to discuss the NCAA part of it but the guy himself. Can he even play? It says he's an All-American, honestly, I just thought he was Chingy part II. Anyone seen him play or know anything else about this?

OJ must be shaking his head right now. "Percy" better be able to play.

Wow, good for him, very much a suprise though. And yes he can play, dont laugh at me but i used to watch his show on Nick called Romeo! There was a little spot on one of the episodes where it showed him trying out for his school team and he looked pretty good. Kinda plays like Bow Wow if anybody has seen him play before.

You know what that means.
It won't be long when we hear that a NBA player is really a good rapper.

EDIT: Forgot Tyrone isn't in the NBA no more. How bout DerMarr "Slim" Johnson?

I meant Nas/Talib Kweli/Mos Def good or the very least Kanye West good, not Rich Boy good.

I also posted NBA player, not former NBA player. :D

Sun Apr 15, 2007 1:49 pm

My god. Heard he was pretty decent but never thought he was All-American caliber. Good for him then.

Sun Apr 15, 2007 5:08 pm

Master P, his father, almost made it to the NBA so he likely has some of those genes. However, at 5'11, he's facing tough odds.

Sun Apr 15, 2007 8:26 pm

There was an article about him and his dad in a slam magazine last year i think

Mon Apr 16, 2007 5:19 am

Master P being filthy rich also helps in Romeo's basketball upbringing.

Mon Apr 16, 2007 5:37 am

i would liek to see how Romeo (cant call him lil' any more since hes 19) does in the NBA if he makes it that far.

You still haven't got over that one huh? Don't blame ya, took a week or so for me.

EDIT: That's Master P if anyone hasn't realized who it is in the Raptors uniform, when he was on the preseason squad.

About Percy Miller or Master P:
Wiki knows wrote:He has had a contract with NBA teams twice - with the Charlotte Hornets during the 1998/99 season and the Toronto Raptors in 1999 pre-season. He has been waived a few weeks after signing in both cases and he has not played in a regular season NBA game. He has also played in the CBA for Fort Wayne Fury.

I'll be damned. :o

EDIT: Some of Master P's achievement (Wiki):
First rapper to be worth over $100 million
First rapper to be worth over $300 million
First rapper to own 100% of his Masters
First and only rapper/CEO to receive 85% of profits in a major deal
First rapper to make Fortune magazine's 40 richest Americans under 40 in 1999
Has sold 75 million records as an independent CEO
First rapper to own and control a clothing company
In the Guinness Book of World Records as the highest paid entertainer in 1999

I'll be double damned!

o.0 Wow, Master P as an preseason NBA player, thats suprising.

Tue Apr 17, 2007 12:35 am

I would have never guessed either of them to be NBA caliber players...

Tue Apr 17, 2007 5:32 am

wow......never saw this coming.....USC should be good but not extremely good next year.

Tue Apr 17, 2007 12:29 pm

I heard this kid is just over-hyped doo-doo.

I won't be suprised if he failed like his father did.

Sat Apr 21, 2007 6:30 pm

my guess is that Lil Romeo will make USC say "Ugh" for signing him

Sat Apr 21, 2007 6:53 pm

Maybe his dad just recently became a generous sponsor of USC.

USC "..does need an international airport."

P actually made it to the NBA.

No he didn't, he played in exhibition games, but he never played in a real official NBA game.
