Our High Schools "Stick with Swiss" campaign

We had some protesting at our school over the schools decision to switch their drink products from Swiss (a local-based company around our area) to Nestea (which is a worldwide company). The thing is is that we can buy certain Swiss products with meals (such as chocolate milk) for $1.70. They are changing it so that we have to buy drinks seperately. Also, regular sized Swiss drinks were 20 oz for 85 cents while regular sized Nestea drinks are 12 oz for $1.25. The schools ultimate idea was to make more money.

This led to protesting signs made during computer classes, such as this one.



As a result hardly any Nestea products were bought at school today.

Would you protest or stop buying drinks at a school in order to get the cheaper drinks back? Or would you get over it and start buying smaller, more expensive drinks.

That's one ugly poster, but I'd support it. It's about time those large corporations and money-grubbing schools got their asses handed to them. Where do you live, btw?

the school i go to is in central pa.

$1.25 20 oz. sodas in my dorm = evil.

$1.25 12 oz. drinks = a crime.

LOL @ that poster I normally eat and drink whatever my friends are taking.

Maybe you need to ask Conr4d to make you a better poster, lol, or anyone who uses photoshop.

The cause is good, especially when you are supporting the smaller local businesses over the huge corporation that just goes for money. Besides, does Nestea even taste better?

I wouldn't be surprised if the Swiss stuff is better. It's all just about money.

If boycotting the Nestea stuff will work, I'd say do it. At the very least you're saving money.

not only should you boycott it, but make sure that you and your friends opress any loser drinking Nestea.

I would support the boycott mainly because of it being a local company. You gotta support your local economy.

just to update on this....less then 2 weeks after they started putting nestea stuff in...the school saw a drop in making money and switched back to swiss.

i guess the boycott worked.

lol wow...we tried to boycott expensive lunch at my school (we're paying upwards of 4 bucks for a 5 chicken nuggets, an apple, and a chocolate milk meal) and we had so many people not go with the boycott that the school didnt so much lose money as appease us just to make us shut the fuck up. Our meals went from being 1.50 or so, to 3.75...i think we finally decided on like 2.20 or somthing as reasonable...

EDIT: this was in highschool...now a 4 dollar lunch is a fucking bargain
