I'm assuming most people are either a) shocked I haven't done this already, or b) never thought it'd happen, but either way, this will be my last post at the NLSC. Over the last few weeks I've gradually become less and less attached to this place. Partially because of things going on in my life, partially because this is now some sort of spammers paradise that is growing at an uncontrollable rate. Either way, I've become disillusioned with the NLSC and the internet in general so it's time for me to leave.

I've had a good time here over the years and met alot of good people, to think that I was like 13 or 14 when I joined the NLSC and now I'm 21 is just bizarre to me. I never thought I'd stay here for so long nor did I'd end up moderating at any stage but I guess things never work out the way you assume they will. I've had alot of fights but also had alot of great discussions, I've also pissed alot of people off and for that I'll never apologise. Anyways I guess I should do some "shout outs" or something.

Matthew - With the way we started out here God knows how we ended up friends but it just seemed to happen. Despite the arguments we've had few and far between, you've always been the most loyal person to me at the NLSC and for that I'm grateful. About our new little project, I'll have a talk to you about that later and we'll work something out.

Andrew - I know we were talking about this earlier, I had some more time to think and made the decision. I would've told you first but not everyone is like me and never sleeps lol. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to moderate a forum I grew so fond of, you do a very stable and professional job here and I'm pretty sure everyone recognises and appreciates it.

Jowe - The funniest guy on my MSN list by far, even though you're an emo these days. It's a shame you don't post more, this place could really use someone like you but then again you are an emo with a job lol so I guess that's not as easy to do as it is for me. It comforts me to know that as long as you're a mod, ][]]ragon will struggle to have his own patching thread

Nick - I can't really have one without the other, but you're pretty cool to talk to about life related things... well mostly girls, and by girls I mean the ones you don't want around but continue to screw anyways you'll learn one day I'm sure. Good luck with the music thing, if that doesn't work at least you'll always have your MySpace addiction.

There's a bunch of other people who should have their own paragraphs or whatever aswell, but my space bar keeps sticking and it's starting to shit me so I'll just list their names as I see them on my MSN list

And those who would just have been normally put into a shoutout list, as opposed to getting a paragraph; alexboom, Andreas, Yohance, Donatello, Dean, Shadowgrin, Peachy, Mazzocchi, Null, Jugs, Mentally Hilarious, bigh0rt, BigKaboom, fgrep, maes, Axel, dadamafia, Doobie, The X and any other literate, decent poster we have here. You guys made things easier for me, it's nice to be able to come here and read a legible post every now and then.

Since there'll be a moderator vacancy (we have a replacement for Matthew lined up already) I'd like to suggest that anyone who wants the job contact Andrew, or make a thread about it in NLSC Issues. I'd recommend people myself but most of them don't post regularly, so it's fairly pointless.

Since you're so curious, my replacement list for General Talk alone would be (in no particular order): BigKaboom, Peachy, Cyanide, Donatello, Nick, Mentally Hilarious, Indy. I have my reasons for each of them, if you disagree I could really care less

I'm tempted to rip into a few people but I won't. There's no point, it's just a message board. I'm assuming most of you are as retarded as you are for a reason, so I'm just gonna assume that you've already been punished enough.

This isn't another one of those retire then come back next week deals... when I make a decision I stick with it (apart from my first retirement, like 4 years ago but I was younger then so fuck off). I'm posting this in General Talk because it's the place I spent the most time, so I figured it was the most appropriate. I hope this site continues and grows in time, part of me isn't too optimistic about it but I'm hopeful all the same... between EA's inferior product and the fact that the morons will now have a chance to take over the asylum who knows, I'm sure Andrew will keep everything in check though. Good luck guys, look after this place or I'll hunt you all down one by one.

Wow... this absolutely sucks. I've always thought of you as the best mod here, just because you are so involved, yet every post of yours is definitely worth a read. I could see this coming but was really hoping it wasn't, not just because I want to rub it in your face when Greg Oden becomes the best C in the game, but because your a great poster, and pretty much the most important figure in the NLSC bar Andrew.

I was actually about to bump up that SDawg or whatever thread you made a while back hoping for an update because I was bored and couldn't sleep, when I seen the topic title and immediately thought it was another pinoy based joke from Jae. This time I was particularly excited because it had its own thread, which means it must be good. Yet I was met with:

Well, I just finished hours of maths studying, then losing to the Knicks in live, so I was looking or something to brighten my day (actually night) a little, and this is definitely not what I was looking for. If anything could reverse your decision I hope that it happens, because this place is far worse off without you, and I can see other great posters following this trend and surrendering to the retards. I know this is a internet forum and I will probably never meet a single person on here, but as others have said this place is like a community, and whenever a community loses a big figure (or in this case 2) it's a bad thing.

Damned this suck. First the second best moderator leaves, then the best one by far does the same. I don't really know what to say right now as this came as a complete surprise to me. The only thing I can think of is that this is a huge loss, not only for this site to loose such a great moderator, but for the entire community to loose such a great person. Sad, sad, sad, sad, sad, pretty much sums it up.

I hate to say it, but I'm slowly detaching myself too. I don't even look at the top of the forums anymore, and I only post if I really have to say something. I know exactly how you feel Jae. I'm sure all of us knew that the forum wouldn't be around forever, but who would have guessed people would start leaving already? edit: It seriously is getting kinda bad though. I remember once there were a million and one things to post about but now there hardly anything worthy no matter how hard you look. It may be the repetitive threads or something. Yea, maybe after 2 or 3 cycles the typical NLSC lifespan is up but the mods are the survivors who cling on for dear life trying to make something out of very little. Ah well, I'll still be around to post my nothings. I doubt I will ever have a retirement thread. I'll probably just naturally stop posting. *sigh* At least we still got Andrew......for now.

Anyway, it's a real shame to see you go, after all the work you've done around here. There will be some big shoes to fill for whoever decides to go for the moderator position...

I agree with dada, this place has definetly declined in recent months. Next month will only mark my first anniversary here, but it feels like so much longer. I'm hopeful we'll have some more intelligent posts and activity around the start of the NBA season.

Perhaps if we ostracize some of the bigger idiots here they'll eventually grow bored and leave? Just an idea.

Anyhow, good luck with whatever you do Jae, and hopefully things will change here enough to bring you back.
