Other video games, TV shows, movies, general chit-chat...this is an all-purpose off-topic board where you can talk about anything that doesn't have its own dedicated section.

I'm going to make a very detailed list of what in my opinion are the top 100 Hip-Hop/Rap tracks of all time. The rules are that I can only have 1 song per artist/band. So, my goal is to amuse myself and to inform people. If someone wants to give listening to hip-hop a chance, they can check out this list and find some good stuff to get them started. I'm also going to try to have a good variety of old school tracks as well as a few not-so-well known tracks. Everything will be in a countdown format and I will likely do it in 25 track sections just for time sake. So, keep an eye out for it and if you have some suggetions, feel free to post them. If I havn't already heard it I will surely download it and consider it.
ps, this isn't G-Unit, or Yung Joc or T.I., this is Hip-Hop, keep that in mind when suggesting or commenting on the list.

Kanye's doesn't rap about rims on all his tracks but this isn't supposed to be an argument.

I dont think allowing only one track per artist is fair, thats like saying you cant use Michael Jordan twice on the top buzzer beaters or finals performances...

agreed. and what about 2pac? you gotta have 2pac :p
well good luck with this list, cant wait to see who turns out to be on it.

I'll have 2Pac for sure, you can put your money on that. Kanye doesn't have great lyrical skills but he is a great producer and I just don't think T.I. has very much lyrical skills at all, but who knows he might make the top of the list. I'm just doing the 1 song per artist thing so I can get alot of different artists up there and I don't want to look too biased. But for sure in the summary for each song I'll have a thing like 'other songs I could have used from this artist'. As far as doing 100 albums, to be honest I don't think I have 100 full albums and I'm not gonna judge an album I havn't listened to top to bottom. Maybe at the end of the year I'll do A 'Top 20 Albums of '06" or something. Because most of the full albums I have are pretty recent. If I got time tomarrow I will probualy do the first 25, I got alot of tracks in mind for the list it's just ordering them.
