Image
Archos Gmini 400, 20 Gb and supports audio, video and pictures (and crappy mobile phone games).

That doesnt look very stylish in my opinion. Looks like some old handheld gaming thingy.

but the ipod can play videos. Which one do you have.

that creative Zen that c.b.4 got seems like a good alternative.

Sun Jul 02, 2006 7:44 am

I'll buy your ipod off you lol.

Sun Jul 02, 2006 7:50 am

If you have 400USD$ you could buy a Creative ZEN Vision...

I'm guessing he has one of the first iPod's, which can't play video's. I've heard good things regarding the ZEN though. Still, $400, yeesh.

You are contradicting yourself. I would just keep the ipod. It's the best thing sense sliced bread. I dont understand why people dont like ipods. there awesome. Some people dont buy them because they are from apple. Give us a reason why you dont like it and i will reccomend you to some mp3 players.

Yeah that's basically it. There's also the other people who deliberately don't want an iPod because alot of other people have one  they're the ones who rant about chunky eyesores like the Zen or whatever being so great.

I have an iPod, 3rd gen... I love it. I lost the USB cable for it so I can't upload any songs onto it. Guess I'm screwed, because it's hard to find anything for the 3rd gen anymore.

Several of my friends have the iPod nano. Who would want something that small? I can hardly read the screen.

Sun Jul 02, 2006 6:12 pm

its okay, i thought about it and ill keep it considering how much i use it

Sun Jul 02, 2006 8:42 pm

what about PSP's dont you have one of them? u can use that can't you?

Sun Jul 02, 2006 9:15 pm

I think this is where I tell you to buy the Sony W800i.

Sun Jul 02, 2006 9:50 pm

well ive got a ericsson k750i which is almost as good

Sun Jul 02, 2006 10:33 pm

My w810i is pretty much the same as jackal's, except that black looks way better

On topic, as others said you should keep your ipod for now.

Sun Jul 09, 2006 4:19 pm

I'm really happy with the iPod video except that the battery dies pretty quick when watching movies, I guess I'll have to buy an extra battery if there is such a thing.

Sun Jul 09, 2006 4:25 pm

it doesnt matter fellas i decided to keep it (for now lol)

1. Its not the best thing since sliced bread.
2. Battery life is a big issue with Ipods. Especially if u're watching videos on them. Most of the time you can't watch a full movie before the thing just dies on you.
3. That being said, wait for the new Ipod Video which should fix the battery life issue.

yeh i have to agree, the battery life is one thing that really lets it down

Not true. I've watched full movies (2-2 1/2 hours) before on a 70% battery charge without it dying. The battery thing is just common sense, some idiots keep the backlight on 24/7 and are using things like shuffle and album cover pictures etc.

Going back to my previous post...

I'm selling the w800i today. :(

Sun Jul 09, 2006 8:14 pm

I'm looking to purchase either an iPod Nano 4gig or a 30gig (video). But I'm having a hard time deciding with one I should go with though, and was hoping some of you could give me your opinions on the matter..

I also got some questions:
- I try to jog a few times a week, which I suppose favours the nano (flash) over the video (hard-drive). But is it because a HD-based player wont work when running, or is it just a precautionary measure in case you'd drop it (flash would be ok, but hd would die)?
- On the 4gig nano and the 30gig video, how much actually free memory is there (I'm thinking that the software and such hogs some space)?
- What 'protection' would you recommend for it? I heard something about a transparent shell or something like that.
