So I bought a few games...

I picked up some (Xbox) games the other day from EB, not sure who has what but these are pretty much first impressions:

Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow
I know it's "old" and whatever, they had 3 games for $50 and this was one I picked up. I love it though, I've always hated games that require stealth but this takes it to new levels. There's a level of satisfaction from sneaking around and bashing guys over the head, then being allowed to go around shooting them afterwards.

Rugby 06
Surprisingly good but fucking hard and offensively limited... I love the fact that you can put your players through gaps and if a guy is closer to the line he'll put in the extra effort to get there, but there are no buttons for side steps/fending and you run into the fullback on every single line-break. Still fun though.

Doom 3
Haven't played it yet, my brother's been hassling me to buy it for a few weeks now so I finally did. Another one of those 3 for $50 things.

X-Men Legends 2: Rise Of The Apocalypse
It's good, but the cartoony graphics are pretty gay. The surroundings and whatever are cool and realistic looking but the characters look like cartoons and I don't really like it. Also, Collosus is the most irritating video game character in history. My god. He has this REALLY thick Russian accent, and after anything he does he's like "HAHA! I AM SO POWERFUL!" I got so tired of him I blasted him off a cliff with Cyclops.

True Crime: Streets Of LA
The third in the 3 for $50 group, and wtf? This game is queer. I get in a car and try to drive, I swerve a tiny bit and bump into a car and this BAD COP thing keeps flashing... so I hit the handbreak, swerve into a bunch of people and people start shooting at me. I don't get this game, I might take it back.

Has anyone got any of these? If so, thoughts please.

X-Men Legends- haven't played the second one, but the first is a blast, if you're into that kind of action-RPG stuff, which I am. You have to play it kind of absent-mindedly though.

It's almost 2am here, I might go play Doom my brother said to play it in the dark with the volume right up and all of the cheats on.

I liked X-Men Legends, despite some of the character and minor gameplay issues... Sunfire is the worst player ever.. I never use him. The alternate costumes are cool, overall a pretty good game.

I traded splinter cell in when i got my 360. definately a good buy for $16 or $17.

What other games did they have for 3 for $50? Definately take true crime back if you hate it.

Havent played any of those games..barely ever touch games unless its on PC these days. My PS2 is practically retired about now.

True Crime LA, is alright-but NY is better-the missions are gay in LA, just explore like in GTA

I got True Crime: LA a couple weeks ago for PS2 for $5. Yeah, it was just too hard to arreste people properly and stuff. So I just tooled around and ended crimes anyway possible. I think my bad cop rating was -35 when I turned it off. It's not great, but it's better than The Getaway (which I got the same day for $3) gameplay wise and I'll probably try and finish the story at least someday.

Pandora Tommorrow is the second one isn't it? IMO, the third one is better, and the first one is a little more, I don't know, pieced together? The second one was done by the Shanghai team and while it's good, there's something about it that just doesn't feel as fun as the first or third game.Let me just say that the Splinter Cell series makes me hate games more than any other probably. Stupid trial and error gameplay.

Doom 3 was terrible. Really bad timing, just after halo 2 came out. Talk about a suicide.

I got Rugby 06 for PS2. It's awesome. You use the right analog stick to do different stuff like sidesteps, fends, shoulder charges etc. (I don't know how it is on XBox) I just finished the World Cup and the game is more realistic than the previous one's because the opposition really do play good (like if you play against England Wilkinson will be their star player and set-up tries/linebreaks)

As for Splinter Cell. They all rock, but I only really got into Pandora Tommorow. Chaos Theory or whatever, is supposed to own!
I also have Rise of Apocalypse, but I never really got into it....

True that, damn, game has stolen a whole week of my life. If you liked Pandora Tomorrow, make sure you play Chaos Theory, now something you'll like.

The 3 for $50 deals are great, I got Aggresive Inline, The Getaway and Smuggler's Run 2

I'm going to keep Aggresive Inline cos my sister likes it and I'm going to trade the other 2 plus Gran Turismo 3 (My sister got it with the PS2 pack along with Ratchet and Clank 3) for GTA: Liberty City Stories for the PS2 and only pay $9.95 extra

Games are usually released at $99, that means I save around $30
