I know and care nothing about soccer/football. It's called "soccer" in the OP because I don't want confusion about what sport this is.
Anyway, this is a sweet move. Works just like Allen Iverson's crossover.

The fact that it's called "Elastico" (Elastic? Rubber band?) makes it obvious that the sport could use some African-Americans to come up with better names for the moves.
How about the "Royale with Cheese?" The "Eurotrash Twist?" (I kid, I kid) Suggest your own.
BTW, who's the player wearing "Mamba Tights" about 2:20 in? Hope Euro-David Stern doesn't see that.

African Americans would just name it E-Stico or something and leave it at that. Original nicknames flew out the door in the early 90's.

You're obviously not around enough African-Americans.
The way it works is...moves get names in the ghetto, and there's a trickle-down effect that takes several years to reach mainstream America, and then several more years to reach the rest of the world.
Stuff like "yope," (dunk) "yank" (crossover) "wet" and "water" (smooth jumper) probably haven't trickled off of the ghetto courts yet...but you'll probably be typing it in your posts in 2009...

Man, that was a dope yope. Jebus, did you see that yank? That was so wet! Oooh, the water.
Ehm, yope reminds me of a cologne I used to use once upon a time, Joop!
Yank reminds me of Riot. Or that song, Yankee Doodle went to town & stuck a feather in his ass.
Wet reminds me of a pussy.
Water reminds me of...well, water.

Sorry sir, but (ghetto) America doesn't really have anything to say in the soccer world, there probably aren't even any dudes there that can do this. Soccer is still rules by the Mediterranean and South-American countries and therefore Elastico makes perfect sense.

What do you think people would've said about terms like "dish," "dime," and "teabag" 10 years ago?

Talk to me when Freddy Adu reaches drinking age.

The same thing I say right now.
It's not a restaurant, what kind of dish are you talking about?
A dime is ten cents, is that all an assist is worth? The way guys pass in the NBA these days, I'd guess that is indeed the going rate.
Teabag, well...either the guy from Prison Break or really teabagging someone.

I only know of "dime" and "dish". How is "teabag" used in basketball lingo?
Sun Apr 02, 2006 4:30 am
Probably when you dunk on somebody and spread your legs?

Who wants to show him?
Sun Apr 02, 2006 5:20 am
I said lingo, not action. So say it don't show it.

Ask j.23 lool.
What Hakim Warrick did to Royal Ivey in NCAA was teabagging.
Anyway, this move reminds me more of the shamgod.

The only player I've seen be able to really do it to perfection every time he tries it, is Ronaldinho (Zlatan isn't too far away tho

)..
It is a great move, but sometimes you gotta wonder what the defence is doing..

The Teabag.
Sun Apr 02, 2006 6:58 am
Those tricks are awesome, one of my friends can do it kinda.

didn't Nick say Royal Ivey was his favourite player because he got to the NBA through hard work and determination? Guess a sly blowjob or two didn't hurt either...

So that's the "teabag" in basketball.
I thought it was the result of hustling for the ball that the players tend to get into the teabag position.

Same here. I thought it was his trademark move at first, until I saw other players doing it also.
I'm still more impressed with Ronaldo's "crossover", where his feet alternately cross the front of the ball to protect it. I've seen him go past 3 opponents by doing that.
The Elastico is simple yet effective though.

this trick is not created by ronaldinho if i m not wrong..hes call rivellino or somthing..one of the soccer great named by pele..this move is also called the flip-flop
