Opera House, the Olympic stadium, the Sydney Harbour Bridge Walk...the guys actually down in Sydney could probably give less cliched ideas. ;)

Mon Mar 20, 2006 11:25 pm

Ok Andrew all try to visit those places

Mon Mar 20, 2006 11:40 pm

hmm....the Rocks....someone in Sydney should be able to give you some more ideas

Tue Mar 21, 2006 12:00 am

Forgot about the Rocks. Haven't been to Sydney in ages. I usually head up north for my holidays.

Tue Mar 21, 2006 12:28 am

Oh and my uncle just told me im going to be in Melbourne to.
Now i need some great places to visit in Melbourne and in Sydney :D

Tue Mar 21, 2006 12:45 am

Can't help you there. Furthest south I've been is Tathra down in the Bega Valley.

Tue Mar 21, 2006 12:48 am

Melbourne = the 'fashion capital' so I'd do some shopping at Chadstone or whatever.

The Rialto Towers = some tower where you go to the top and then you see the whole of Melbourne.

Melbourne Cricket Ground = location of the 2006 Commonwealth games

Albert Park = Australian Grand Prix

I dont know what else to visit. Visit Geelong :headbang:

Tue Mar 21, 2006 1:34 am

Jugsie how many miles is from Sydney to Geelong :?:

Tue Mar 21, 2006 1:44 am

Anyone say SCG, see a Football game?
Or you could watch a bunch of white boys hoisting up 3s play after play at the stadium where Sydney Kings (I think they are Kings) play.

Tue Mar 21, 2006 2:07 am

yes, they're Sydney Kings.

Geelong is like 90km south of Melbourne. Melbourne is 1000km south of Sydney.

Tue Mar 21, 2006 2:47 am

I know about the Melbourne and Sydney distance.
 Only 90 km from Geelong to Melbourne

Completely unrelated, but whatever :D

As for things to do in Melbourne... Melb is known for its night life... but you might be a bit young for the streets of St Kilda yet. :cheeky:

Tue Mar 21, 2006 12:12 pm

Don't hitchhike in Australia. Don't want to end up in Ivan Milat's house :|

Tue Mar 21, 2006 12:15 pm

Something about me want to go to French and Phillip Island. Little islands near bays like that always seem to be nice. Maybe not here I have no idea. But look into it. Little islands are dope. (Y)

Tue Mar 21, 2006 12:19 pm

Of course, the greatest city in Australia is two hours north of Sydney. :P

OK, so perhaps I exaggerate. But it is where the head office of the NLSC is located. ;)

There's a cyclone up in Northern Queensland between Townsville and Cairns (pretty big holiday type coastal towns). A lot of damage has been done and they've lost a lot of the banana plantation..

Tue Mar 21, 2006 4:12 pm

dwade, avoid Geelong

also make sure to watch Wolf Creek before coming over to Australia

Tue Mar 21, 2006 8:31 pm

Cyclone on Sunday at QLD, Stage 5 or something like that.
Going to be there for Aussies Surf Life Saving Championships. :headbang:

You could see Matthew in Sydney.
