Other video games, TV shows, movies, general chit-chat...this is an all-purpose off-topic board where you can talk about anything that doesn't have its own dedicated section.

Alright you guys, im not sure if anyone has dont this before but here I go.
I was reading the Hardwood classics for the first time today(weird i know) and i never laughed harder on this forum before. Like I was reading that jersey thread and I saw that jersey switch of Grant Hill lol. Then I was looking at HornetsFan's signature thread and just though man what a fuckin idoit. But the one that I just had to fucking not stop laughing was the Kapono one. That guy made me laugh harder than I ever did!!!! Im not sure if he just tried to ask like this or was doing it on purpose or maybe he just a litle fucked up in the noodle. Then I rad Extremly Sorry's thread "I am new to this thread and I was wondering who can help me." that just was the shit! No on can open a thread betetr than that.
Now after I finished reading the ones on this forum I just had to share and ask what were your favorites. Mine was Kapono one. What are you guys's favs?

I'll be cliche and say the original, often duplicated but never replicated "Starting Five" thread.
Wed Feb 08, 2006 12:31 pm
The Intellectual thread was great...but nothing can beat the "I can't believe my starting five"
Wed Feb 08, 2006 12:40 pm

Wed Feb 08, 2006 2:53 pm
What exactly was the starting Five thread, i cant be bothered finding it and reading it
Wed Feb 08, 2006 3:09 pm
A fairly anonymous poster made a thread called "I cannot BELIEVE my starting five..." in which he commented on an NBA Live 2001 Franchise game where he assembled a team using the fantasy draft option, saying the CPU had allowed him to put together an amazing starting five and was considering starting over. He chose Kevin Garnett and played him at point guard, insisting that was his natural position.
When a couple of people pointed out the obvious, he first defended the decision in a friendly manner but when a couple more people expressed amusement his demeanour went sour, retorting something along the lines of "you probably treat playing these games with the same intensity as masturbation", to which someone responded "What's wrong with treating masturbation with intensity?" and from there it basically became a discussion on everything and anything.
To be honest, it was somewhat of a spam thread the way the conversation twisted and turned and people were double-posting to get the thread up to the 1000th post (and then in an attempt to get the coveted 1000th post). It was all done in fun and goodwill (after the guy was shunned for claiming KG was a point guard, that is) and didn't carry over to other threads.

The intellectual thread..both the old and new one are the best ever.
Thu Feb 09, 2006 4:24 am
Can't say I have a favorite, I tend to forget threads quickly. The one that does stick out is the one where DRESPN just kept on bashing me & bashing me in NBA Talk and then I returned with a very very long response to all his bashings, then he was like, uh, oh, hmm, my bad. Dumbass.
Another one I was quite fond of was the weekly's Jae used to do. Now before you folks say he should start doing those again, forget it, with the core of posters we have now, it'd be like a Lanky Man infestation within a week of the Weekly Threads. Attention whores.

My favorite thread is my own

This thread deserves a mention.
It didn't really have much to do with anything, but in terms of chuckle-arity, this one made me chuckle the most. Although that might've been the age i was at back then that helped me out with that.

The starting five thread. The best part of that thread is this, IMHO
when I was 6 years old and about 4'0 tall, I was doing a 360, behind the back, through the legs, around the head, triple pump, around the back again, off the back board, cought it, wrapped it around the back, through the legs, bounced it of my ••••, spun it on my fingure, put it under my shirt, clapped 10 times, pulled it out of my shirt, rolled it off one arm over the shoulder near the neck onto the other arm, flipped it in the air, closed my eyes, did a flip, cought it in mid air, did a backboard slap with my left hand, while I dunked it with my right, as it went through the ring, I cought it with the left and dunked it again (double dunk), and at the same time I signed my name on the top of the backboard, pulled on my •••• for a little while, picked up a chick, and cooked a meal.
HONEST TO GOD!!!

That was my last contribution to that thread. Looking back...i acted really stupid on the old forum. My age clearly showed in my posts.
Fri Feb 10, 2006 10:26 am
God, I was a fuckwit and a half. I would've slapped myself if I was posting like that now.
And the guy asking Yohance if he was related to another guy who's name was also Yohance
That's actually not the entire thread though, they got to 1,000 but kept going strong after that. There was also another incarnation, two I believe "I cannot believe..." part 2 and 3, and some corny spin offs that people didn't really take to.
Fri Feb 10, 2006 10:29 am
Damn Drex in that thread KG was playing his natural position of PG.
Fri Feb 10, 2006 11:27 am
Who were you guys? The only names I recognized were Yohance and Rens.
Fri Feb 10, 2006 12:59 pm
I joined later so I wasn't there, but I can see EG, Stevan (chuky wood), Matt (matt bakowksi) and other guys who are retired or at .org
